It's the weekend, once again. And I hope you enjoyed the more serious trailer from the upcoming episode. If not, it's available above.
121 story renders and 2,034 frames of animation were done this week. But now to something else.
As the release dates given (Q3 for Patreon and Q4 for Steam) are rough estimates, I'll give a little rundown on how I'll proceed with the planning for the actual release (as Q3 is technically four days away).
Right now, I'm working on the last lewd scenes of the free-roam, and I estimate that I'll need an additional 100 story renders for that, too. I've set myself a deadline for all that by the end of July. When that is done, I'll send it for approval to Valve/Steam. This is the bare-bones version of Episode 4, which has fewer choices than I'd like, but is playable as a whole.
Since the Steam process can take anywhere from 1 to 6 weeks, with potential further delays and required changes, I'll still submit it before the episode is completed, just to get it in the queue for approval, so I can start honing in on the actual release dates when I get the all-clear.
While it's in the approval queue, I'll keep adding scenes with other girls, so you have a bit more choice of who to spend a bit of romantic one-on-one time with.
Once the Steam process is done, I'll give the testers access, so they can begin testing. To do this directly in the Steam client is a huge advantage, because correcting errors, uploading builds, and downloading fixes is just as quick and easy as you getting fixes for other games you own through Steam.
Once testing is complete, the Patreon version will be released, and I anticipate the Steam version to follow shortly thereafter (within a month or so). I'll provide you with the exact dates as soon as I confirm them.
And just to be clear,
U4iA - Season 1 will be the first four episodes. The following four episodes will be Season 2, which will be a separate product on Steam.
A few facts about the episode:
- It's much faster flowing than anything I've done before, which was an intended change, and a lot more work to pose. But it really helps cut down on the "boring transport stages".
- There are more than 50 characters in this episode.
- There are more than 50 different locations.
- The bigger choices (like the help Sergei or not choice in ep1) will actively change the content you're experiencing in the episode, and are there to make replays more fun and diverse.
- There is only one free-roam. It's a big one - not in terms of size, but in terms of what happens there. Navigation has been simplified, and shortcuts are available.
- 10 lewd scenes, all in the 15 to 20-ish animation length.
Well, enough talk. I'll get back to work. However, I'm super excited to get this episode out to you, and I would have loved to let you see it now already, but it still needs a bit more content, choices, and polishing before it feels like a full, completed episode.
