Well for people that hate roaming, there is VN-mode. You're not forced to play Roam-Mode unless you want every collectible and/or steam achievement.

Imo Drifty did a good job with both options, just a shame that he listened to the feedback and removed the stamina during freeroam (I really liked it when I played episode 1 when it was just released) and also removed the traits. It gave the game even more replayability than it already has.
I'm happy he removed it. I already hated the 'class' system in Imperial chronicles. I play VNs for choices, not for artificial barriers.

Yeah, the cheats console Drifty implemented for the Steam release is one of the best such add-ons I have seen, period. It beats any third-party mods hands down (and negates the need for the universal mod). Other devs should take note.

Having said that, I am sick of Stans who don't like freeroams demanding they be removed from an AVN, thus depriving that element for players who don't care one way or another.

If you're talking about the DLC walkthrough mod, I agree. Only thing that could be improved is if it had LI and/or achievement planning in it (so not just at the choices). Also not all achievements are mentioned in the guide as far as I could find (for example Major Donor). For modding it's great, but as walkthrough I still prefer the good old PDF-guide (too bad that isn't included).

Also it seems I just found something what seems to be a bug:
On my route I only had sex with Jackie. However during the "question-game" with Ana close to the end, the options say that the truth is "0". I'm pretty sure Jackie and MC/Aaron fucked, right? Or didn't they go beyond foreplay?

Yes, they nean that Nyah and probably the MC are android with Artifical intel, that why when you read it backwards, like in the mirror of Celeste's car you see AI4U.
For those who don't understand, Artifical Intelligence For You.

I think that U4iA is a chip that is implemented into the body of people, probably in the brain or nervous system. It might even be some kind of nanomachines.

I don't think MC himself is an android, but it's pretty much confirmed that at least 1 of the androids are made in his image.
There are two things I mostly wonder about:
- What is in MC's mother ring and/or what does it unlock?
- Has the version of "hush little baby" he remembers any deeper meaning? As in, does it unlock something for example?

I guess we will see in season 2.

daddy dearest wouldn't need to go such lengths to dig up mc's brains if he was android.

What I found most surprising is that this game takes place not that long after Leap of Faith (seeing that Sea hasn't aged that much, if at all), yet the technology is much more advanced. LoF seemed to take place pretty much in current day (except for the cameos from Chasing sunsets and Artemis, but imo cameos from other franchises shouldn't be taken into consideration), but u4ia has stuff like androids that act almost completely like humans (Nyah even seems to have free will) and memory-erasing/altering technology.

Either I missed something and LoF also took place in a world with very advanced, currently non-existing technology, technology advanced an insane amount in a very short time or imo Sea shouldn't have been in this game except for a cameo (and I say that even with her being my second favorite LI behind Jackie).

You are looking at this all wrong.

Yes, this game pretty much takes place not long after LoF.

But nothing in LoF requires any very advanced non-existent high tech stuff.

Think about it this way. Most movies and shows about the modern day does not mention AI (or more specifically, the AI hype.) Does it mean AI (or more specifically, the hype around it) doesn't exist in our world?

You know, if the game had immediately made it clear it was set in a future or a cyberpunk setting, there wouldn't have been any questions. But it looks like current days, a tropical island, everything is more or less normal. Okay, maybe the unusual drug (Hello Interstate 60 and Captain Ives running the Euphoria trade), but everyting else seems nothing out of the ordinary. And then suddenly, out of nowhere, an advanced android appears.

There are good free roams and bad free roams.

Drifty just happen to have more bad one than good one in this one.

I am extremely peeved for missing Ana scene for missing the cuff, on 3 different play thoughs, Ep1 to Ep4.

I'm not saying the plot makes perfect sense, because it doesn't, and you gave a perfect example. It took a left turn out of nowhere. And I'm not judging whether that's good or bad, because that's not really the issue at hand. In fact, I applaud Drifty's attempt to subvert expectations. One could argue if the attempt made sense or not, but again, that's really not the issue at hand. All I'm saying is that the reasoning given in the post I replied to was flawed.

If a movie or show takes place in the future or an alternate world, you still see at least some stuff (no matter how small) that doesn't exist in our world (yet), even if it isn't necessary for the story.

Imo it doesn't really take a left turn out of nowhere. The android gave quite a few hints throughout the game that she was one, but the only thing that makes me say to myself "nah, that can't be it", was because we saw nothing even close to that kind of technology in Leap of Faith.

No. Agree to disagree. it makes absolutely no sense to go out of their way to include some future or alternate world technology if it has absolutely nothing to do with the story.

Fair enough. The story didn't take a left turn out of nowhere for me, as I caught the same hints you caught. I just thought you felt that way. Honestly, some of the hints weren't exactly subtle. So anybody caught by surprise really wasn't paying enough attention to details.

Yes, but we don't get to see how long this exactly takes place after she left the group.

Yeah let's. Before I end this I still want to make one more point why in this case I disagree with your viewpoint (just for sake of clarity to everyone who reads this):

The main reason I think that way, was simply because of the simple rule of determining the rules of the world where a story takes place in. Everything we saw in LoF exists also in our world: The buildings, the vehicles, the technology etc. There was nothing advanced in it so we don't expect anything advanced to exist. Since u4ia takes place soon after LoF, we don't expect technology in this game that is way more advanced than we already saw. However if they began numbering the androids with #1, this means there were already more than 20 created before this game and we know the last two (unless there are already more created after Nyah) are/were extremely close to being human (otherwise he wouldn't be able to marry). You would expect at least some sort of less advanced androids to be visible in the background or in the newspapers. However it could be that it's in the news(papers) of LoF and I just didn't remember/read those because it had no impact in LoF.

This makes me want to play LoF again :)

Alright, after about 44 hours i've gotten all Steam achievements, all solo routes and even got the "Others". I'm still of the opinion that this game is extremely good. I'm also wondering what Siwan's role is in the story. I just followed up on her flirt-route, and somehow she got access to the institute part of the complex. Spy, employee, who knows? I'm pretty sure we will find out more about her in season 2.

Now that I've followed every LI path as solo, these are my top 10 girls that aren't under "others":
1. Roxanne
2. Jackie
3. Sea
4. Nyah
5. Gina
6. Teagan
7. Geneva
8. Samantha
9. Celeste
10. Siwan (just because she's hot and mysterious)

OK, Christine was leaving for the island right at the end of LoF, this is the job she was talking about with the genius who's the head of the company, and MC's evil father. That was obvious.

We know she has been reset multiple times because she wanted to leave:

sc "Absolutely love it. Learning from one of the greats, but..."
ad "But you've wanted to leave for a while, right?"
sc "Sorry, sir. I was a little home-sick for a while."
sc "But I'm enjoying myself a lot more now."
ad "That's good to hear. Means we don't have to reset anymore."
sc "Reset?"
ad "Does waking up on an empty plane, getting picked up by Teagan, sound familiar to you?"
sc "What do you mean? It happened when I got here. How did you know?"
ad "You see, we can't have you leave just yet. Teagan was doing what she was told to help you resync when you woke up."
ad "She has picked you up at the airport four times now."

We don't know however how long she has been there before she had to be reset again. When u4ia takes place I believe it has been a couple of months since her last reset, but it's unknown if that's the case every time.

The whole story gives me the vibe of a SciFi version of The Truman Show meets Groundhog Day but with memory manipulation :KEK:
