Not sure, but I do know that he made a post about it when he was still active that something to that level happened. Dunno what it was.
You might like Heroine Rumble and Heroine Rumble 2 from Enlit3D. The latter also has quite a bit of mods and is fairly easy to mod as well.

You can always check his ci-en. At the end of December, he said he was depressed (I believe his grandma died?) and doesn't know if / when he will continue the game. There have not been any updates since then.
He'll be producing less content for some time, as he has personal issues he is dealing with. Hope he feels better and is back soon.

So try to find joiplay 1.01.79. Itried newer versions but they somehow work worse...

And in settings you need to find html setting - local saves for html -turn it off - apply.
How does this helping to make frame rate higher i don't know, but this just works.
This granted me playable framerate on redmi note 8, on poco x3 nfc its flying...
