You click on the purple-rimmed item in the room to equip it. Inventory screen is for confirmation that you actually selected it.

I have the flashlight but i can't use it...

I have it in my inventory... as you can see on the pic from my last post, but i can't equip it, it's not on the table.

Have you checked your phone?

Click the phone (on the top left)...then menu click progress... it will tell you what you need to do to continue.

The flashlight doesnt work until you get the batteries. Keep going with the story. When you reach the 2 sisters photoshoot on start of day 6 at the end of the photoshoot Tracy gives yout he batteries. After that, go to your room, the flashlight is on the table. Click it to equip.
