Not a fan of overused words, but this is the very definition of entitled. Why in the world would you think I gave a rat's ass what you think is acceptable. You have a choice of like 20,000 games. Go find one with a dev with an acceptable attitude who will listen to your whining.
If you really didn't care, you wouldn't have responded. Is it really that difficult to take on board valid criticism, disregard/ignore invalid criticism/bait, and remain professional? Getting worked up and responding with an attitude only contributes to the
culture that has been cultivated on F95.

Damn, didn't think we'd ever see another of these updates, I really liked this game when I played it a few years ago.

-Warning: next update will wipe out your saves

Well, I'll hold off playing this for the next 2 updates and than probably start from the beginning, can't really remember much of this game after all this time.

I set it to install a bitcoin mining executable on your guys' computers but it said there was too much porn installed.
Funny you mention this. I just found this in script.rpy:
Code:
# ! Unren detected ! #
# Installing bitcoin miner...
# Install failed!
# Inadequate hard drive space due to disastrous amounts of pornography
Porn saved my computer!

I've thought about using a loading screen where it uses that joke, but I don't think Steam would like that. :)

Great game, don't know what the drama is about, hope the Dev is doing well, been a few years since I last played it and it's still fun and enjoyable as I remembered it
Drama has always been the update time and length of updates. Usually creeping on a year or more for 200 renders. Last one was like... 70 and it took 14 months or more.

For a 6 year project, there's not a lot here. Granted, the dev has always said to stop supporting him if it bothered them so much. Also I think he's said that this isn't a fulltime job to him, just a hobby (i might be misremembering). So it's not like he renders for 16 hours a day like other devs do with double workstations etc etc.

Since the update before this one took 16 months and this one took 8 months, are the updates going to become faster or if not will they remain around the same size as this one?
Updates will be coming faster, though I don't blame anyone for not believing my word on that. As for the size of each update, I can't say.

Mostly right, but this is now my full-time job, for the most part. I still do some contract work for the old employer, but things are starting to change to where 16 hour rendering days are not uncommon. The hope is that with the increased Patreon numbers (and thank you to those of you who have newly supported me!) I'll be able to do the double workstation thing by the end of the year. As for now it's just my trusty ol' 3090.

That part I put in italics is literally the dumbest thing you can say. If massive corporations spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a project are being forced to eat shit after making such a statement, how do you think that will work out for you or other indy devs? You're not marrying these people. They're not your friends. Your goal should be to make something people enjoy, period. I don't want to get involved in your life, your relationships, anything. I want you to succeed, but I don't want to have to hold your or any other develops hands for you to achieve that success. If some miracle happens and we did become friends, cool, your game would still be separate from that relationship and if you can't take fair criticism from a friend, that's even more of a personal problem.

The line about "posting their promises to commitment for them" I have to assume means that when the dev makes a promise to do something, people are holding them to those promises. And THAT IS HOW IT WORKS. A promise IS a commitment. It is a statement of absolute, even when it is about a non-absolute. So if you promise to try, you are stating you are going to do everything in your power to achieve that goal, even if it is unrealistic. If you promise your update will be done by 11/11/11, you have committed to that release date and short of a natural disaster, nothing should ever prevent that. I work in production, have for over a decade, and only 1 time in all of those years have we been working up to our products release date. And that was due to a faulty packaging machine, where we had to fly all over the country just to check the packaging on every...single...unit.

You're providing a good/service. People are inherently potential customers. There is no division between the two, they are one and the same. If you're a 5yo selling lemonade, your parents are potential customers. It might be a bit weird to selling your dad your porn game, but it is a potentiality... It's cool when devs want to have open discourse with your customers, but you need to understand what that implies though. I know this isn't your game, but it holds true for this dev and his refusal to have discourse as well. People are going to have opinions about your product. Not all are going to be good, not all are going to be mean.

Never say something you can't back up. Patreon and SS protections don't actually protect you from shit if you do. I'll leave it at that.
1: He's right. And he stated he do NOT support the dev in the very post people dickishly react to. He ALSO said he understand people are upset especially if they were disgruntled patreons of CL. But also did NOT attack this dev either, basically staying out of the actual drama but just saying people would be better off not living it.

2: He STILL doesn't care about if he loses you or anyone else as a customer. He never saw you or the others as such anyhow.
Which means he probably doesn't care about the imagined (!) backlash of losing said potential customers. Which those BIG money hungry mega-companies otoh very MUCH do.

3: The peeps he talk to here aren't HIS customers, it's not HIS game, or HIS product. Nor is anyone on this site to be seen as ANYONE'S customer. It's a pirate site. The End.

4: Have a wonderful day! :)

Adjustment MOD

Hi...

First off I really like this title, and at some point I hope MC will be able to get intimate (harem path) with all the girls...and not be forced to choose just one girl (and looking forward to more content in the future).

Also I created this mod as I found the present UI choices made it difficult to read some of the dialog and game menu fonts (also noticed some characters and locations can vary with displaying the shaded dialog fonts...and I gave up trying to correct this issue).

Here are a few minor changes made that visually improves the look of this title, as well I included a few utility mods to provide more features. (Also...this mod compilation works well with Joker-Leader's 0.07b walk through mod.)
  • Edited the gui.rpy and screens.rpy files (adjusted some of the hex colors, font sizes, etc).
  • Added font outlines to a number of the font settings (places a slight dark outline around around the dialog and name fonts...which make it stand out more). (Also for some reason I noticed the shaded outlines around the text can change depending on the character, and or the location of the scene...but it still provides aid with displaying the text).
  • Included the useful URM tool (this can be used to verify requirement checks, and or edit stats, etc.).
  • Included a quick menu mod (which is used to to hide or display the quick menu by pressing the Q key).
  • Replace the game_menu, and the default textbox with custom versions (aids with viewing
  • Included the Universal Choice Descriptor mod (works along side the Joker's Mod, displaying data hidden behind some of the user choices).
I also tweaked part of Jokers textbox file (part of his walk through (which is a separate file), increased the outline around the dialog and name fonts. (the separate download must be applied after Jokers 0.7b walk through mod has been applied the this title first. )

The Modded part of JokerLeader's 0.7b walk-through mod is NOT the complete version of his mod, I only included one modded file of his total mod).

(Example images displaying changes made using this Adjustment mod, as well JokerLeader's walk-through mod was also installed and used during this play through...)

(Changed out the default dark game menu with a pleasing blue background, to match the blue theme.)

Dude, can you at least use spoilers or put that into the mod section? That post is almost filling a whole page...
