Man, I don't know what to say... Really. Seen all this negative feedback yet again, make me so upset. No, it was never about the writing block. Why am I do the whole rework thing? Because the old game had a lot of problems, from my perspective.
As I look at it right now, I see that I could do many things better, improve them. Give the player a far better experience. I could do better there, I could change that, I could improve this thing. The story isn't intriguing, the animations are static I could create far better ones now, the game mechanic is kind of boring.
About money... Just what are you talking about? Who is here milking money? I work as hard as I can on my game in my free time, if you could spend at least a minute playing the DEMO you could notice the efforts I made into it. True it's short, but I really put a lot of hours into it. I'm not just sitting on my butt thinking "oh I'm gonna milk those patrons for money and be doing nothing" My only intention is to make a damn good game, nothing else. And I'm going to do that, despite all this negativity I'm getting.
About updates... No, you won't have to wait a year for the new content, the updates will be released much faster since I have a lot of free time in the summer.

Don't let those people get to you. People on the internet like to complain about things they get for free, I'm betting none of them paid a dime for the the whole year your game was out. And now they say that you milk "them".

I've seen devs that milk, and they just promise updates and don't deliver. And so far you delivered as much as you could for this game, I'm looking forward to seeing how the remake will turn out.

It's the same situation that happened with MyNewLife and MyNewLifeREMAKE (of beggar of the net)

And honestly(THIS IS A JOKE DON'T GO NUTS GUYS)...this version should be considered a NTR game because the MC gets to be emotionally destroyed the same way as the MC of an NTR-game...

The guy has:
A mother with every problem in the world: alcohol, smoking, gambling, hated by her family and also a bit abusive(she slapped MC and yelled at him) with an ungrateful job as a nurse who is going to also work for his own bitchy sister.
He broke both his hands and has a serious case of low self-esteem
He is hated(in this new version) even by those characters that liked him in the old version(like the teacher, who openly insults him in front of the principal)
He had issues that brought him to skip school a lot(it was mentioned that he built a PC, and it costed a lot, but he went cheap on the PSU...so I guess between his school-issues still managed to find a paying job for the sake of building that PC)
So his absence in school costed him a college recommendation...so he will not have an enjoyable career
Meaning that he, a physically weak guy who lives a miserable life, must find a barely decent job just to survive while also dealing with his non-existent confidence and self-esteem, and her mother's huge debt( because of her gambling...but i guess cigarettes and alcohol may cost a lot...i'm not a smoker or a drinker...so i don't really know)

And on top of this, we've yet to see the nanny, the young nuns, MC's childhood nerdy chubby friend and the pornstar....but if this is just the prologue...i'm extremely scared.

This MC and the one in MyNewLife, in their previous version, were miserable but with a glimmer of hope or someone truly supportive in their lives...but in their respective new version...they feel like they're going through so much shit for so little reward Or always on the verge of losing everything

EDIT: i'm seeing a few facepalm emojis under this post...let me be say: this is what it looks like so far, i'll be very happy to be proved wrong, either now or in the future now that my main issue with the previous version is fixed(the characters' lips...i didn't like them XD too big/plump, like the ladies went under surgery for having them XD)

If that’s how you treat your work then I would not be surprise that in two years we will see another remake for the same reasons, because of course there is always something that needs to improve.

OK... played the demo... it was fine... started to like it... and then it ended... has potential tho... if I would give a piece of advice: People are here to see lewd stuff so next time if you don't want criticism, do not release a demo with no sex scenes... better to launch later when you have a bit of sex to get users hooked up... that was disappointing for me... not the game itself but the lack of sexual stuff in it (at this state). Has potential so I will keep an eye out and retry after a few updates!

i have played the game and i was even a patreon supporter for a time but i stopped after

1- He has a point. Remaking a game that was not even half-finished yet was a bad idea IMO.

2- You clearly work hard on this game. I said this before and months ago as well.
But you need to be open to criticism.

3- Look at the positive side of criticism:
a) ideas to improve your game.
b) it means people actually care about your game and they saw some potential, otherwise they will not be wasting time commenting.

omg nice finally the big update! this dev is one of the best on this site i knew after not seeing his updates weekly for a while he was working on something huge so i'm excited to check it out. it's crazy you call this premium because ive already felt like ive been playing a premium game since the start. will give some thoughts later after i try it out

I understand that you feel that your effort its not appreciated, but you need to see thins from the perspective of the players to understand why there's a negative reception.

To give you and idea I been waiting for the content of Alice for more than a year and now that it finally arrives (some of it at least) the game its going to be remade so that means I (and all the people waiting) will have to wait for another year before any more content comes out.

That's the reason why remakes are so unpopular people want the next part of the story the next new content, they don't want to play the same content all over again with only a vague promise that the new content will come out at some point.

Add to that the fact that remakes rarely (if ever) get completed because both the dev and the players get tired of going over the same content, and as a result the game inevitably gets abandoned.

I won't claim that you are milking the fan base because I don't think you are but the sad reality its that remakes are more often the not done by devs that run out of ideas, but they need to give something to the patreons so they announce a remake to keep the players waiting for the new content that will never arrive

First of all the negativity you are getting is not my fault . It came because you chose to do that disappointing
christmas special while people were waiting for some real story progress and then after 4 more months
you release the remake . so it has been at least 6 months probably more without any story progress .
thats why you are getting the hate. lets face it its gonna take at least 6 more months till you catch up with the story.

People ain't happy how the game is turning, aka remake before it's finished (I don't see this as negative IMO). So most of them complains about wrong choices in the making of this game and lack of contents for months to come (game already had plenty, even though Alice's were lacking). That's why.

By just looking at the animations in the gallery, I can say that animations are really top notch, a lot of efforts are put into this Premium Edition. And that's just enough to praise Waifston work.

People forget that they are paying for game in development, meaning a lot of changes to the whole design is very possible if the game doesn't really "work" the way the dev wanted it to or it's even possible that they stared creating a game with very limited knowledge on how to make a good game(aka why a lot of games just have "grind" as gameplay).

I get it, replaying the game sucks but you are not paying for veteran devs with years of experience making games, you are paying for people who usually make these games in their free time. So after months of working on the codes, renders and animations, they learn how to do it better.

I'm not a fan of "remakes", but at the same time I'm willing to give devs a chance to prove how much they learned. Which goes hand in hand with consistency of updates, as this is an important aspect patreon.

It's the problem with the "early access" aspect of it all, but some game flourish by "scrapping" the old style while other die out. But giving a chance is what it's all about, and maybe in a year the game would be amazing or it might suck. But the only facts we do have, is what the dev put out right now. Which a better product then the first release of the original version.

Demo looks very promising, I just hope the teacher will have nice, trimmed pubic hair like in flashback or Christmas bonus, not completely shaved like in the main storyline. Generally, I'm waiting for the premium version to develop because it seems more interesting than the original story.

I'm not against remakes and Alice doesn't stand out amongst the other milfs to me so I'm not salty about her content being delayed either but I didn't like this demo much. The graphics/animation is better plus more hot women is always good. Everything else is worse.

The MC wasn't great in the og version but he's just pathetic here. All that monologue about improving the lives of himself and his mother but then he skips 60% of his classes and expects a free ride to college? I know he's supposed to have some mental trauma but that's just pure stupidity. On the top of the new mental issues, the MC now has physical problems too! Made even shorter but I guess thats popular idk. Overall it feels that the MC is in a worse spot than he was at the start of the previous version and its not fun to play from his pov.

Then there's the yellow decisions, the romantic interest points, the reputation points(that sometimes conflicts with getting rom points), the mentor system and of course, the money grind. This is too much shit. This kinda stuff was a negative in the old version and now there's more of it for some reason. I'm already annoyed thinking about keeping track of all these points and the amount of saves I might need to make. Please get rid of some of these things. In particular, I don't like the yellow decisions and mentor system. Those mechanics don't belong in sandbox games IMO.

The demo gives the impression of a better looking but less fun game. Since it's early, I really hope changes can be made.

I, for one, enjoyed the demo. You can tell how much effort you put into it very easily. Personally I do think you should've finished first then come back and redid it. But YOU are the dev, no one else. I'm sure you took that into consideration when you decided to do the remake. End of the day if you're not happy with the game and you think you can improve it then you should try to make it more to your vision. Personally I figure that now that you have more experience and know what you want to change, and how you want to change it, we'll get back to where we were fairly quickly. End of the day, best to try and separate haters jumping on because "NEW UPDATE" and find the people with actual useful feedback
