Some devs do something to prevent players to use the dev mode. Others have a none standard config in their game and the way "unren" activates the mode, doesn't work with it and you need to do it in some special way. :( Means some modder needs to do this by hand for you folks.

Thanks for your reply. Looks like i will need to manually enable console through 00console.rpy. And then i can type in 'config.developer = True' :)

Is there a new version released with updates? There are some new games in this version that cannot be opened and always prompt.

This version you use was made by some user... and he did not say whats different or what he did. So its your decision if you use it. After i looked at the code of this, it was clear something is wrong in there. There is too much base64 embed code in there for the two usual tools unren uses. Im on linux so i cannot test this now.

  • This happens mostly if the directory names leading to python inside renpy where changed, so he doesn't find python. This was not done by the renpy devs in the last three years, so unlikely.
  • Second possibility is the path to your renpy app has certain chars and this errors then. Best use only letters, numbers, underline, minus and dot. Windows batch code is especially bitchy about this and unren is mostly written in it. :sick:
  • Third reason reason could be some problem with the access rights. Many unknowing users use admin mode for NO reason with common apps and wonder then about errors. :censored:
Check this points and see what it could be. And if you don't mention the name of your problem games, which not work, we can only guess. Not wise.

Ahh One more reason to avoid Windows Eleven....first they require you to have an account on their servers continuously (better to monitor you) and now they make batch files obsolete....no setting up an automatic 'shut them off' program of your own....

time to look for an alternate OS kiddies....or big brother will get you...
