On my system settings, it's 1920 x 1080

Guessing I should lower it until the game is playable?
No, I was thinking it might be the opposite. but it isn't.
your problem is the game is rendering at a higher resolution than your monitor.
I was wondering if maybe you have a teeny tiny monitor that is rendering at something crazy like 800x600. which is so low the game can't even render that small.
but no, you got full 1080p resolution. this should not be causing such an issue.

Actually, another possibility is... are you using "large" text or larger in windows desktop configuration? that thing tends to break things.
If you want larger text, set text size to normal in windows and lower your resolution to 720p or something. it will then stretch it to your monitors 1080p. which will result in larger text without breaking as many programs.

text size in the settings is at the absolute smallest size. also when i adjust the in game resolution it makes the window smaller, but does nothing to stretch or compress the images to fit

try using [alt]+[enter] to force full screen. this might stretch/compress the images to fit

didn't give me a full screen but it fixed the issue
oh, sounds like it was in full screen mode and made a mistake in identifying the size of your screen.
so when you hit alt enter it exited that mode. which allows for the screen to be adjusted and stretched as needed.

you might be able to solve it in the future by finding drivers for your specific monitor and installing them. (usually using the "generic monitor driver" works. but for you it is giving issues)

and though it does work, if i have the highest in game resolution, it can cut off dialogue if it was to go to the second line of the box. but this is still leagues better then before

gonna ask this again since no reply.. Everytime I’ve saved the game through the phone then exit out the game, the next time I open the game all my saves are gone, its happened everytime and I can’t find a solution. just wondering if there’s a certain way you have to save then

I am also having a problem with the images not matching up with the game, like image sizes are too large, but this wasn't a problem before. i've tried taking a look at the scripts to see what the issue might be. There is a script that is a basic resizer that doesn't resize the images but just the resolution, so I have no idea how the game worked before if every image is 1280 x 960, when VX ace max size is 640 x 480.

This game may not have been the most well optimized. The frame rate crawls for me now if I don't have my laptop charger plugged in. All the more reason why the remake was needed

OK, I was hoping i'd be able to figure this out for myself but its baffling me now. In the Otherworld labyrinth where you pick up crystals to open the portal while avoiding the monster spawners, what exactly is the trigger for them spawning even? At first I thought it was distance based or line of sight that triggered them but it feels seemingly random

Worst still is the one time i actually opened the portal, I got munched on by a monster last second and couldn't outrun it because my dash has been disabled since I used the DIY tools in Peters room. Ive pressed and held tab, shift, hell ive even tried caps lock because fuck me i'm at a loss here

EDIT: Ok, disregard the above, the S key is what enables/disables dashing apparently...not that its actually listed/labelled in the game from what i could tell but whatever, don't mind me o_O
