Personally I think the fact you are forced to kill her is should be considered the bug, why can't we have an option to capture her alive, take her home as our prisoner?
Because she'd kill you if given the chance and time.
Last time I played however you could leave her bound in the vault as present for Farah

yeah I'm sure everyone in my dungeon would like to kill me, that why I have guards :p
Well our Wench/Queens are more than happy to give you the chance to conquer their Wombs even if they originally were "enjoying" the "hospitability" of our Dungeons... that said none of them have the Natural strength of this Guard Captain and I have no doubt she'd be able to sneek by our Guards and kill those she can't... it just takes time and given your extended stays in foreign nations under cover she has that.
Even if she is not directly going for you she could easily warn any of your neighbors about your tactics and help them capture you while you "investigate" an enemy domain.

The anims coming in will be for future scenes only or are you planning to insert them into past scenes (like the family with the broken down wagon) as well?

Really enjoying the game btw.

This is almost a philosophical question. I have limited time to invest in each version, what percentage of it do I invest in brand new content and what do I improve existing content? Obviously I want my game to be awesome all around but if I retro-animate all existing scenes I won't have time to develop new ones.

Solutions to this problem could be to either ignore the older scenes and focus only on new ones or do the opposite, dedicate one version to "facelift version" where I take the time to focus mostly on animating existing scenes. A "golden path" solution will be to mostly invest in new animated content and try to animate an existing scene or two on every update.

My eyes are fucked (sometimes it takes a minute for them to focus), for the first few seconds I couldn't see the black girl, it looked like the MC was doing something rude to that horse, all I could see was the MC, the horse head, and the MC's hands somewhere between some horses legs... o_O

Personally I'd suggest leaving old images alone, focus exclusively on new content while ideas are flowing, only revamping old stuff when you get writers block or after you finish the story and want to go back and put some polish on it.

Why not doing both? Develop new content up to a point where you are satisfied with the state of the game and than use one development cycle to make something like an intermezzo where you polish early chapters. Maybe while doing that intermezzo you will get new ideas for the whole game as well. As an "older" player I wouldn't mind something like this.

He can only do one thing at a time. While he can do both sequentially, the amount of time he spends on revamping old content can instead be used to develop more new content. This is a matter of choice, but I prefer new content.

I think focusing on the new ones is better. I, for one, would like to see the "end" of the story sooner than later. Perhaps you already have the ending planned, and it's only a matter of time before we see it, but I think the pacing to reach the end is important. It is common for writers to plan the beginning and ending of a story before they fill in the middle, but if it takes too long, then it feels stretched out.

If you think of your releases as books, then I think it's easier to understand why the released ones should be kept as they are. It's the same for game developments too. Often you can notice that the early levels are indeed much simpler than the later ones because the developers had less experience in making them, but that's fine.

I think if you happen to come up with new ideas even after you reach the ending, you can write a sequel and apply them there, which happens with a lot of games too in their DLCs or sequels.

If you don't mind my criticism, I think right now the story is already a bit stretched out, because the story in each fiefdom has little to do with Karder's upcoming conquest of the other continent. I mean yes, I understand Karder is conquering more lands and eventually he will go for the other continent, but take Game of Thrones for example. I don't know if you think it's a good story or if you have watched/read it, but still, when Daenerys could potentially bring the Dothraki Horde to Westeros through her marriage, it scared the hell out of everyone because they had never faced such a huge amount of cavalry in Westeros, not to mention the dragons later on. And then Daenerys would go on to find a fleet that could carry her armies to Westeros, and to seek loyalist allies in Westeros.

I mean, you know from the beginning that Daenerys planned to reclaim the throne, much like Karder does, and her every action was specifically tailored for that. I understand this is a porn game, but still I wish the women were more relevant to the central plot.

Two points
  1. Strategic Point
In "Game of Thrones" Daenery's goal was to recruit an army to retake her kingdom (on an unconnected continent, which she would then have to conquer county by county if they didn't capitulate to her, exactly what the MC is doing (Though if she had screwed her way across Westeros, I could have lived with that ;)).
Retaking each Country isn't a distraction it is building your strength while denying those forces to your enemy.

  2. The Literary point.
    • In Game of Thrones, retaking the throne was the destination, Recruiting the army/war are the vehicles by which Daenerys gets there.
    • In Vae Victis the asses of the women you meet is the destination, the journey to retake the Throne is the Vehicle by which you get there. :p
I agree I'd like to see more proactive opponents, though in fairness to Doorknob22 that would raise the difficulty of making this game exponentially, and he is already making a much bigger effort than most Devs to create a game with actual game elements.

As would I but to be honest, developing an AI, even a basic one, is not part of the current scope. The raids (and upcoming "Wench Events") are my "poor man's AI", as they emulate your opponents' activity without requiring too much coding on my part.

I do hope that in the future I could find a way to implement some very basic AI, as long as this effort doesn't take too much of what really matters: moar boobz.

I agree. Retaking each county/province isn't a distraction or filler story. What I meant was that I hope the story in each province could be more tied to the goal of conquering the other continent, like what is the purpose of taking each province. Yes, it could be as simple as conquering more lands and thus more armies for the upcoming conquest, but it'd be more coherent if each province or wench ruler served a particular purpose that Karder had to go the extra mile to conquer it.

I understand, yes, I'm here mainly to watch Karder ravage women too. But perhaps Doorknob has done too much of a good job of setting up the background. I can't wait to see how he crosses the sea and punish his sisters and mother.

Well, that I have no preference over, because I play in the VN mode :p

Each Nation he currently conquers is not only hostile towards him it's also hostile to humanity as a whole.
There is also a clear lack of unity among the different provinces and the old Kangregate is falling apart as it has no meaningfull representation and Power on the eastern Sisters.
Karder liberating these Lands improves their economics and grants equalisation among it's citizens (both Sumia and that Elven Queen are the best example).
The Goal is not only to retake his throne, it's also to stop that Wakabian Cult from ruining the mortal lands.

It's basic strategy - would you take your army across the ocean to invade another continent - even if that were your ultimate goal - if that would leave you defenseless against violent adversaries at your doorstep? Unless Karder's going to be like a plague of locusts, 100% living off the land with his marauding army (not a great way to finance, feed, and grow said army, btw) he HAS to have a stable base of operations which he doesn't have to worry about being overtaken in his absence.

Bets one of the sisters betrays Mommy Dearest to get on Big Brother's good side? Either way, the endgame will be sweet, I have no doubt.

That is a personal preference of course, but IMO you're missing half the fun...

I think I'm misunderstood here. I didn't mean there is a problem with capturing every province before going for the other continent. Like I said, a reason being as simple as more lands, more money, more people is indeed a valid one, although a bit boring because that is true for every province. I just think there could be a greater connection of the story in each province to the final goal, like a province having a fleet or something that raises Karder's legitimacy. Right now, the story in every province is a self-contained one. Every province has some internal strife that Karder takes advantage of. I understand that allows them to be done in any order. I don't know, perhaps I am thinking too much.

...didn't you play the same game as me?
Because every Infiltration mission had a clear goal to advance Karders ambitions.
With The Cult of the Sun he breaks the religious orders governing his realms seperating religion and government.
With the Elves he stops the supression of a minority by another one.
In the Dessert he ensures a good ammount of Gold to build his new nation and forge alliances that allows trade to improve.
In Sumiria's nation he teaches her people that their believed superiority is fake and breaks their racism.
We haven't reached any of the Nations that could host a harbor for a military fleet required to cross the sea of Blades... right now it's all about establishing a new Kangregate and surpressing the different factions trying to tear it appart.
