Hey Mr. Dev, since you asked in the Syahata's Bad Day thread about feedback for your game a while ago, I thought I'd oblige. I'm gonna be pretty honest and try not to sugarcoat things, so if it comes off as rude and offensive, this isn't my intention.
First off, since I won't speak for everyone, here are my tastes as per what fetishes are included in Valkaree:
1. I do like non-con
2. Ryona can enhance the experience in my opinion. In itself ryona doesn't do anything for me.
3. I'm indifferent to guro. Don't really care either way - but if an enemy that I'd like to have an h-animation only has a guro one I'm getting annoyed.
4. Also indifferent to necrophilia with maybe a slight distaste for it.
5. I don't like corruption.
With that out of the way, I will compare Valkaree to SBD:
The first obvious difference is the art style. I do like me some anime pixel art but that of course is very subjective. I do not like the artstyle many western erotic games use, more often than not the women look like glamazon blowup dolls that have the fashion sense of a backwater strip club in the middle of nowhere. While it may seem like a minor issue, compare the choice of clothing in games like Syahata's Bad Day to Valkaree.
The second is the general tone of the game. While SBD is very obviously a porn game, it doesn't run on porn logic 100% of the time. What little interaction we have with other people (the teacher in this case) seems pretty normal. Meanwhile, in Valkaree, the Lieutenant forces you to suck his dick for "training purposes". It's basically a normal setting with horny monsters vs. a porn setting with horny monsters. Again, may look like a minor difference but matters to me.
Third one is enemy variety. It's basically expected for an h-game to have about 2-3 enemy types per level. SBD's first stage has 3 enemies, male and futa zombies as well as giant flies. Meanwhile, Valkaree has one enemy type for 3 stages. And I have to say, the zombies don't look that good, either - they're scrawny little humanoids that remind me more of the typical grey alien, albeit slighty decayed.
Fourth one is gameplay. SBD draws inspiration from Antophobia and Parasite in the City, both of which combined the typical Resident Evil-like survival horror with porn. Valkaree is more of a sidescrolling arena-shooter with one single weapon. Sure, you can upgrade it, but it's still one weapon. Some variety goes a long way, just like it is with enemies.
Fifth is how the animations happen. I'm a big fan of animations happening during the actual gameplay, I don't like it that much when the game switches screens when animations occur. Also, in Valkaree, the animations are quite... stiff, I'd say? SBD has much more fluid and expressive ones. Anime artstyle helps here as well since it's easy to convey expressions with that.
Hope this helps. I know that the game is probably too far into development already to make major changes but maybe it's some food for thought for the next one. Wish you all the best, IMO the adult gaming scene needs honest and motivated devs. Too many devs are just in it for the money, I think.
