Escort dress path with grabbing the sword early gets you used by Ramon, but not sent to the camp; you still stab him after, just like if you waited too long and he fucked you because you hesitated.

It's actually badly designed, because if you grab the sword too soon, he knocks it out of your hand, off the bed, and well away from you, clattering across the floor... And yet you still have it at hand to stab him, after he dumps his load, despite your being very pinned in place down into the mattress, under him.

Both paths have the same script pointer, despite different situations.

It made me think DRG rushed the scene for release goals, and had maybe intended to fix it later, but we'll nvr know, now.

I had wanted the Escort w/grab-sword-too-soon path to lead to the game over camp bad end after he takes you, and for the original combat loss version of that same bad end to have a modified version of the bed scene happen first, but couldn't find how to combine the scenes.
if i use the save file you sent me, and i wear the escort dress and grab the sword early, Ramon uses her, then it sends me to the camp for that bad ending

Hmm. I reverted to an unmodified 5.2 version, and she stabbed him, after. I'll look again. Maybe the save has baked-in changes from my mod, but AFAIK, I was nvr able to get that to work.

Will get back to you after re-test.

Oddly, w/save22, which likely predates my mod, she does get sent to camp after getting used if she goes for the sword too early, but another save that I access back to it from scene gallery has her stab him.

It just now occurred that I should see if the gallery saves it differently (unlikely, but I have seen at least 1 other game where that happened).

Otherwise, my mod may be baked into the other save, and may actually have broken that very chain I wanted, and which existed, before I had a chance to encounter it, which is ironic.

I had initially been trying to mod from the other direction (combat loss not jumping straight to camp), and broken it for the other path (edit: I didn't break it; see below).

Going to test a bit more.

EDIT:

OK, so the scene gallery actually plays it back differently than when you play it in-game from the beginning, off a fresh (pre-scene) save, and a save that predates my modding.

I always ran it back via gallery to avoid all the unskippable scenes before the money shots, so didn't realize the gallery version was different and broken. Likely DRG forgot to update the gallery when he updated the main. Weird, as my mod was affecting both, IIRC.

Desert Stalker also had a few gallery mismatches; it's where I learned they could happen. I guess gallery saves are their own isolated instances, so they don't flag changes in the game, and devs sometimes forget to transfer script changes to them, or maybe some paths inherently get broken when moved to an instance where they cannot flag changes.

Good to know, but annoying that one of the changes I was trying to make was already how it ran, outside the gallery.
