Not yet. It's still early in developement.

@duberdubi: I think it will be possible to port models from different sources to VAM2 just like in VAM.
Edit: Oh right. There is already an AddonKIT.

Also yesterday i stumbled across an auto-aligner plugin that was written with ChatGBT?!?!
If AI is really far enough to write plugins for VAM, it might even be able to port them as well.
I wouldn't want to miss the features from BodyLanguage, E-Motion, VAMmoan and many others.
Would be great if "Character comes to life" features would become basekit so that you have all in one and don't constantly run into issues because there are 3 plugins fighting for dominance over the glance target.
I've used ChatGPT to write several decent plugins for VAM already.. it takes some trial and error, and throwing log errors back and forth a few times..but getting ChatGPT and Deepseek to work together has given me great results in some usable plugins that otherwise arent available.... one being a toggleable absolute toe bone lock (basically removes the toe bone hinge entirely and locks the toes in the position they are in when the plugin is loaded)..this coupled with ShoeHelper has made some of my more niche scenes ALOT more realistic and provided alot more usability for the copious amount of various footwear that were otherwise 'broken'. Couple others ive made is a 'GluteControl' plugin and a 'CollisionMorphTrigger' which are also very useful.;).. VAM2 has a very, very long way to go before I personally make the transition..lol

Adding on to this, you could make multiple throwaway accounts to use ChatGPT's smart mode or whatever it's called. Like mentioned, it takes trial and error to get it to write the plugin you want and you more than likely won't achieve it in one go before the smart features run out unless the plugin is simple. One thing I always do is tell ChatGPT to include comments in the code explaining what it's trying to achieve just in case you need to run it through another AI or revisit it some other time. AI can see the comments and try to pick up where left off or make relevant edits.

It would be nice to have a thread for vam/vam2 dedicated to plugins made by AI.

Really not a fan of the new U.I in VaM 2..it seems very bad and cheap..at least in VaM its simple but theres alot to learn..VaM 2 feels like im straight running it thru blender with all the menus around...yikes..Plus there is no full VR yet which is weird since VaM main focus was VR from the start.. so i dunno..all those years for this?! feels like a big let down imo.

What's the logic behind this being another Unity creation? Why not pay for something a little, uh, better? I'm assuming that the business (there... is... a business, right?) has the financing and budget (there... is... a budget, right?) to pay a paltry million or so for a license. For a project this ambitious, a million dollars is obviously more like the Friday pizza budget than a large sum.

My man, use Gemini CLI, it has huge context window, is free, can write directly in the code editor etc

it's not really a company) there is one developer, he came up with Vam, Meshed VR and he pays some people for help and that's it! and funding is purely from subscribers on Patreon, that's all!

Think it would have a huge negative impact on the VaM community's content creation if the engine suddenly changed with VaM 2. It'd be like Bethesda throwing away years worth of accumulated modder knowledge by switching to UE5 with their next title.

He has said for a long time that Vam1 didn't live up to what he wanted. It's not scalable, but Vam2 will be. Right now it only supports Gen8 models, but it will be able to support Gen9 in the future or whatever they come up with. And with the massive talent there already is in the modding community for Vam1, we will only see even greater things from Vam2.

On a different note; Would you guys like some addons to play with? Have 12 blendshape (morphs) addons now, over 200 to play with in total.

This is another way of saying that there is no plan, no organization, no budget, and no hope.

Sooo, compared to the first one, does this even run better at all?
because from the image I cant really tell that they changed much at all compared to the first game
im not savvy enough to know what these "gen8" models mean
doesnt this use DAZ 3d models or soemthing?

Vam2 runs better, yes. But keep in mind, that soft body physics are not yet implemented and only basic collision. Overall, it is more optimized so it does run smoother and will have better stability, due to the new way add-ons are deployed.
Gen8 has higer details. Do someone research for more info.

I've played around with it. I'll wait for the real UI to be implemented before going further. Its worse than Blender or DaZ right now and actually annoying to use lol. I'm looking forward to recreating my looks under improved graphics.

Good news. It say's that Gen8 is backward compatible. Which means that all clothing items and (i assume) hairstyles and what not can just be ported from VAM 1.

Otherwise it looks like the main advantages over previous versions are additional morphs and tools inside of DAZ3d to create more detailed characters as well as high detail textures. Something along the lines of what the microdetail plugin does in VAM but much more advanced.
