Right. Try producing a million plastic toys with Patreon and a "public roadmap". Think that's fundamentally different? It's different in the details, maybe, but not in the process. Both are highly ambitious business enterprises and both require significant capital and human resources. This project has neither. It will fail unless that changes. I guarantee it. Just as guaranteed as it would be to build a factory with the same plan.

exactly the same thing was said back in 2015 and people were shaking their heads on Reddit when Meshed VR said just as a joke that he would take it and make a game for adults and for VR)) they laughed at him but the years passed and as we see he fulfilled his promise) the same with Vam2 I think) Meshed is the kind of person who if he takes on something, he sees it through to the end

I disagree considering he refuses to restrain his insane moderation team (AshAuryn) that have cut down so many of the creative content makers it's actually insane. He doesn't reply to his paying clientele either. There's basically no PR and no accountability, and the remaining people around him are all yes men. He's dragged his heals producing something that people like myself paid years for. All this time for what he's produced, while not bringing in help and cutting into profits to deliver. He clearly is over his head. Yeah they produced a tech demo, but far, far too late in the lifecycle. Most of the most creative and unique minds have split from the official channel. I'm hoping whoever is left does the heavy lifting with 2.0 because with the recent "events" going on in the digital world we may not have long before VaM is unable to make money outside of Bitcoin and unable to be hosted outside of some hidden proxy.

a person develops a game by himself, what kind of claims can there be to him) all geniuses are a little crazy in a good way)
he not only takes away, as you said, he gave people the opportunity to earn! Who else has done this? I don't recall any companies, even the largest in the gaming industry)

Everyone who thinks VAM1 was the greatest thing ever since sliced bread needs to uninstall all his plugins and try to goon without modded stuff.

Yeah, have fun using anim patterns. 2025 and VAM still doesn't have keyframe animation - it's all modded in.
Redundant if an addon does it? Sure, but why did it take a modder working for free to get it done?

Vam 1's default anim tools are indeed weak. Hopefully Vam2 can fix it.

Frankly, the wait was worth it. You could say the hard work was done.
1) unprecedented graphical improvements compared to other human-skinned games (and to think it runs in real time), it looks better than the amateur renderings of DAZ3D and Cyberpunk, and all that power in virtual reality is promising.
2) the character import system is practically ready (which is one of the most difficult and important aspects).
3) scene saving.
4) realistic lighting plus HDRI maps.
5) object importing.
All that's left is to perfect the animation editor, and you could say you can start creating scenes.
This is clearly a very significant leap forward for future content creation for all possible ideas in adult games. The only thing missing would be to match the animation of the metahumans, or better yet, allow their direct import, and we'd be looking at the most practical and efficient video game creation tool created to date. Virtually all of Unity's evolution and programming work is condensed here in Vam. Anyone who thinks this is easy work must have no idea about creating, programming, and improving 3D graphics in video game engines.

We're practically just a few months away from being able to use Vam2 just like Vam1.

Are you saying the one who invented the wheel was an idi0t because stone or wood wheels was sooooo uncomfortable and annoying compared to modern vehicles wheels? So you really don't understand why Meshed didn't made VaM perfect for the release of 1.0?

Please Dudes and Dudettes! You and me and even him or her just doing what we can do at our best. He did what he can do at his best. And it took time. What a shame. And he asked money for it. What a shame. That you paid or you didn't. You had and still have the choice. Meshed did something and that's why we are here now. Period. If he choose not to do that, then now you can't complain about it at all. If you think it can be better, then do something about it. Complaining and winning didn't helps. At least this is my humble opinion.

Hello! So I've been hearing about VaM 2 here and there but never really gave it a shot since it's still in beta, but now I'm kinda curious.

How is it in comparison to regular VaM? Can I just copy paste addons from VaM 1 into 2 and play it normally?

Thanks in advance!

Nope, it's completely different project, nothing common. It's a start over.

If the UI gets an overhaul and becomes streamlined, like in late VaM1, then that would be beneficial. However, currently, the UI is painful for me to use, and I don't want to have to use Blender or Unity to import anything.

All that's left is to throw out the UI and re-create it. Create a normal posing system. Make shader changes on the fly and support for your own shaders. Make it possible to use your own custom genitals and JCM. Working, non-slow physics. Make texture storage in the Atlas format.
A lot more to do.

I have played with it quite a lot and i agree with pepitomendieto's points. Right now you already can make stuff, even though the current addon creator is unfinished and it is not so easy to import stuff, but it is possible. I exported a character from Blender as FBX and was able to rig it and control it as a ragdoll inside the game already. Not easy, but possible, unlike VAM1. There are many things left to do but the man is delivering, and what we have in it's current early beta stage is already more than much of what is available out there. If you have Unity knowledge give it a try.

And about the UI, i see many people complaining, and he has said multiple times that it's a prototype for a modular UI. That is not by any means the final UI. Creators will be able to build their own UI on top of that framework and basically assume any shape they want. I suggest to go into their Discord and see what people are doing already, there's almost nothing on the hub but people are sharing their work progress there.

Do I understand right that VAM 2 is kinda dead now? I see almost no scenes in the VAM hub (just 4) for it and nothing here either.

You are far of "understanding right". The thread is barely a month old and as the post above yours explains, most ppl share their stuff on the creators discord.

Huh? It says Thread is from 2022.

But thanks for letting me know. So I should just go to the VAM discord and download scenes from there? Does Vam 2 has a lot of content yet? Or just a few people experimenting?
