If Vam1
You could almost double your FPS if you use process lasso and or the cpu fix from the hub and if you are using VR, the openvr fsr mod.
Tone down hair physics (both top sliders to 16) for all hair assets (remove male hair) and set each hair asset's shader type to "fast".
Virtual sweetheart, one of the largest scenes I've ever tested was running at 18-20fps before in VR and with all of this 35-40fps.
Even more when you only use one or two low range light sources.
R9 5900x, 32gb ram, 1080ti
I am having constant crashes during scene loading when im using CPU fix with 'Fatal error in gc: Too many heap sections' Error. Its a real shame bc perfomance improvement is real (when its not crashing). I saw some other ppl mention this on hub and in discord but never found a solution sadly... I have 5800 x3d, rtx 4070 and 32 gb

There are people here trying to make an alternative - https://f95zone.to/threads/how-can-we-achieve-soft-skin-physics-in-unreal-engine.137663 If there's people here with knowledge in this area can join in and help.
that's what I'm saying though, 2022 - no upload yet, nothing to show from what I can tell. A project manager would be like: ok guys, let's make the most basic game to get the ball rolling, a static model in an empty scene. Then figure out contributions, when and how to do builds, where to store them. That's nothing crazy, that's something they could do in a week. Start from the ground up and build, step by step. But they're developers so they'll chase their tails, overthink it. Problems they have today are like "Experimental DynamicNaniteSK has no extra collision solution". They'll always have problems, developers always do...

But maybe with the addon kit here we'll see more development done. VAM 2 looks like a barebones starter kit for adult games to me... And it should be more accessible to mod. I know VRChat has many modders doing things in Unity Editor already. I imagine plenty will come to VAM2 too. I'd bet modders will do skin physics and hair before meshed does it. That is if they deliver on the addon kit.

That is really really odd.
Latest chipset driver installed? Latest GPU driver installed? Unity CPU fix for Vam installed?
Try the hair tweak and only use one light without soft body physics. If your problem still persists, pm me I got some big guide safed somewhere I've sent someone here a while ago.
To many heap sections was a problem for me when I had the r5 3600 with 16gb ram but even then, I managed to adjust the pagefile and the heap section error was gone.

makes you wonder what Meshed was doing all these years. It certainly wasn't working on This project. Cause it's not much different then the Alpha from 3 years ago. It seems like once he put that out. he put this project on hold and decided to resume it Mid/Late 2024. And if he has working on this for the last 3 years then that's really bad. Cause that means we wont get beta2 for the next 10 /15years.
I have a feeling that he's been living it large on subs money; sailing around the Caribbean on his yacht while watching nubile young ladies wrestling in the on-board swimming pool full of blancmange.... tough old life!

This is literally what I talked about in a discord server with others. Dude literally didn't do anything at all despite saying that he wanted to create VaM 2.0. He did the foundation for it, then just decided to leave it there only to pick it up last year giving some lies here and there that he was working on it and shit, when in truth we don't have anything at all except a pre-alpha shit.

Honestly what Meshed did is pretty novel that nobody else really wanted to develop. But at this point if Meshed really wants this project to come into fruition without these crazy delays the code and project files should be made public so that the community can push this project and get it going. The community is what made VAM 1 so good honestly with so many plugins, patches, and content, hell even F95 was responsible for finding some security bugs... Of course without Meshed creating VAM we would have nothing.

But looking at the current status of VAM 2 I doubt we'll see anything worthwhile until mid next year lol. Making games is hard lol, idk if there is some weird physics or math thing thats blocking Meshed and cauing delays. There seems to be a decently sized creator community around VAM they def would help if they can. Not sure why Meshed's supporters are so anal against open sourcing and having the community help build this? At this rate lol we aint seeing shit... Patreon supporters would be still supporting Meshed being the main developer backing and maintaining this project.

It's not that he's the only one who writes the code and comes up with the design of the game itself) and this was told to me by a person who knows the entire development process) I also don't understand why he doesn't take on assistants! He pays some moderators on the hub and those who work on the hub, but it seems to me that it would be better if he paid programmers who would help him)
but as a creator of Vam I respect him very much! he was able to do on his own what many studios before and after him could not do! he literally brought evolution to the world of VR and games for adults!

Dude just gained 2,000 followers with release of beta, that's an extra $4,000 minimum a month. He was already getting like $35k a month before, so closer to $40k this month, over $400k a year.

Yo is this gonna allow loading of Daz assets directly and put all those lazy low effort porters out of a job?
I doubt directly... There's still going to be an export from DAZ and import into Unity. Then maybe (if we're lucky!) the addonkit will do some work, you'll click a button and it will be ready for vam. But I so doubt it's that simple... You'll still have to set manually some physics setup for sure, those are not part of daz.

But clothing is so far away............... Next update is the addonkit. Modders might do clothing and hair themselves when that's out. And then meshed will leave it at that like they did with the animation system in vam1.... If there will be hundreds of clothing items already and people are happy, he'll just call it a day.. I wouldn't expect necessarily a better system than vam1
