the question is, will meshedvr continue to support vam1 after the full release of vam2 ? or the content of vam1 will transfer to vam2, if this the case it will be dope
The support for VAM1 is already long over. Meshed only patches critical bugs and vulnerabilities. Also nothing from VAM1 will transfer to VAM2, because they are not compatible. Maybe in the future someone will be able to make some kind of transfer tool for models and clothes, but officialy VAM1 and 2 are incompatible.

Higher res textures / polygons and the fact that u can add in blender and daz characters into the mix easier into vam2 makes it more attractive to me than VAM1.

VAM1 u are limited in terms of adding carbon copy characters from games for example. Thats one of the biggest turn offs for me in VAM1. But its still better than what the alternative is which is rly bad lol

We already have a few addons ported from VAM 1 into 2. U can see em in VAM Hub. And yesterday ive already seen a few familiar names making addons for VAM 2.
Right. It'll just be much easier to import widely available models without having to tweak em a lot to fit in VaM(If I am thinking right.). Then there’ll be improved lighting, shadows, specular maps and wetness all that.

Gen 3 and 8 are pretty much the same. Theyr'e using the same meshes, and UV, just with changed pose. As far i saw 'base models' on hub, these are in gen 8 pose.

2k res with highest settings i pull 160+fps with 2 characters so far.
I haven't tried new Beta yet, since there is still nothing interesting.
And without clothing and hairs i see no point to port my models yet.

But i remember Alpha was running 3times better than VaM 1 on my potato PC back in days. It was like rtx 2070 + 10gen i9.
Beta still doesn't have implemented real hardware power hoaders. I mean, skin physics, hairs and clothing.
So yeah, it's for sure run better than VaM 1 for most people atm.
But once all the good stuff will be there, it will most likely require 2030 high end PC for max settings [x16 meshes and stuff]. No idea how scallable are graphics options, but hey, without raytracing, 2070 could handle this.
I'm more concerned about CPU, than GPU tbh. Meshed most likely will go again 'no special treats' for any NVIDIA or AMD, and will go with physics system on the CPU.

yeah its all up to the community to do the work, vam2 will be great if supported

yeah i see why, vam1 will hold vam2 if u keep supporting it for too long

I haven't tried VaM since 1.18 when I was on a 1070 with an Oculus CV1. I really should give this new version a go now that I've got a 4090 and slightly better headset with the Quest 2.

Anybody running it on a more modern headset like those highend PiMax ones?

this is the third time i try out a version of 2, and looks like we are slowly getting there
the motion scene is horrible btw, the hip moving itself is hilarious, but when you move the girl, you can see the the penis doesnt affect anything and she just has a huge hole
i guess its still a lot of work to get to the level of 1, the their work will start to pay off

How do I download resources/mods for vam 2? Does it have its own built in Hub yet?
Not yet. It's still early in developement.

@duberdubi: I think it will be possible to port models from different sources to VAM2 just like in VAM.
Edit: Oh right. There is already an AddonKIT.

Also yesterday i stumbled across an auto-aligner plugin that was written with ChatGBT?!?!
If AI is really far enough to write plugins for VAM, it might even be able to port them as well.
I wouldn't want to miss the features from BodyLanguage, E-Motion, VAMmoan and many others.
Would be great if "Character comes to life" features would become basekit so that you have all in one and don't constantly run into issues because there are 3 plugins fighting for dominance over the glance target.
