oh, and how to get away from the slum at the start of the game? It says there is a lockdown and i really dont know what to do
The only way I know is to go through the sewers, keep using the explore option and you'll find more locations to exit into the city. The final thing in the sewers is unlocking Mu in the mushroom caves I believe - she gives you an option to exit the city entirely.

I'm trying a few other things.

This little side track may just end up wasting time but since I'm redoing Vicindio I may as well do it right the first time.

I could always use actual drawn art like what LaughingFox has made for the game but the rest could be my quick(maybe not) and easy(yeah no) pixel art.
honestly i thought the idea of death being the plain doll from bloodborne suited it, but seeing that pixel art makes me think i was wrong. there's something about the white-haired refined image of death that's oddly appealing for some strange reason.

on a side note, the version you're making right now - is there an estimated timeframe until it has about the same amount of content that the QSP version has? i ask mostly because i really, really want to play around with it, but i dont want to have to call it a day after about ten or so minutes. the QSP version, despite its cut-off content and unfinished questlines, has genuinely given me almost 30 hours of gameplay across a few different characters and playstyles. i was just hoping that the version you're making now had about the same content.

Are you porting this to twine sugarcube? Is that what I am seeing? Do you have a stable enough build to where it might actually be good to go? My apologies if someone else has already asked, I just haven't been keeping my eye on the game as much as I should.
I'm trying to.

I should have a stable build of the city next week, there's still some stuff that's broken that I'm trying to fix.

Yooo! I love the pixel art design for death, it's so pretty and good!

will the twine version get it's own page? or will this one just be updated to show the change?

Side note, i absolutely love this game snekk, and am very much looking forward to how you grow it in the future.

I'm still toying with the idea of trying to keep them parallel but yeah, probably. Everytime I open QGEN to work on the next part for Twine I'm reminded why I do this, something breaks or something corrupts and I have to fix it.

I may ask F95 to just nuke this thread and let me restart with the QSP version on the page as a bonus. 200+ pages of chat about the wrong version and all that.

If you need help let me know. Not the most technical, but I have learned a thing or two about sugarcube that I am willing to help with.

Once I get a few updates out we can see where I need help on. It isn't a difficult process, just time consuming trying to sort out all the quests.

My update on the actual game are . Mostly the next three updates and what I'm working on now.

I have a vote on the paperdoll/pixel sex stuff I'm working on as well .

I prefer your game with all the anime photos tbh XD
honestly so do i, but you've got to admit the lack of consistency is jarring as hell. i think it should be a mix; the major characters get pixel art, the minor characters get anime images that suit what they look like, the rest get randomised anime pictures that only vaguely align with who or what they are.

Maybe the next project I do I'll make it full pixel art. I'm rather fond of Mona for Annette and the Plain Doll for Death.

It's a fun little side project to work on while I figure out how to code/brainstorm on something else.

an idea for a new game could be something like vicindio but sci-fi? the only decent sci-fi sandbox game i can think of is Trials in Tainted Space, and calling it decent really is pushing the definition. instead of the typical fantasy classes like healer, warrior, and so on, you could make classes like combat medic, soldier, sniper, etcetera.

...i have no idea why i'm blathering to you about this.

I tossed that idea around before when I was considering other projects. It will be a fun distraction from all the medieval and goblin rape.

Starfinder has an open gaming licence(ORC) and as long as I attribute proper credit I think I can add them. I'll have to look into it.

You're gonna get probed by Grays. Ayy Lmao.

I saw the subscribe star post about maybe adding back in the sex combat system and improving it and while Im a big fan of the idea I keep thinking about how it will make getting relations with people obnoxious and wanting a quick sex option. This led to me realising that every game with such a system with the exception of the ERA games divorces its sex combat system away from the rest of the game just like normal combat so you end up with situations were you make an npc orgasm 100 + times in "one sex" and get 10 relation vs clicking the have sex button 100+ times and getting 10000+ relation despite these two things literally being the exact same thing.

The lack of Impact of the Dol style sex system outside itself is the real issue here.

Most of Dol's sex is rape. Like, a good majority aside from the player banging their friend. I haven't played it in awhile but I don't recall much relationship being added.

It is a difficult system to balance. Finding the trigger that gives you the most reputation would just lead to it getting spammed. I thought about locking out reputation gain after a certain daily limit but that was just tedious.

It's not like the game is a competitive multiplayer game. If people want to rush through and get rewards fast, who cares?

i...don't think that's a point anyone was making. you can play a single player game and take your time with it, you know. i've got northwards of 200+ hours on a lot of single player games i play because i can appreciate the writing, the story, the gameplay mechanics, and sometimes just get lost in the world.

wanting the game to feel more of something is just natural. for someone that plays games only for the dopamine rush of rewards, the game would be too grindy and dragging out too much - too much dialogue, too much fluff, etcetera. but for someone that appreciates that the reward is the fun had, gameplay mechanics can always look a different way or be a different thing to make then suit different tastes.

my point is, no one cares if you want to rush through, but don't make it at the expense of the people that don't.
