It's not like the game is a competitive multiplayer game. If people want to rush through and get rewards fast, who cares?
i...don't think that's a point anyone was making. you can play a single player game and take your time with it, you know. i've got northwards of 200+ hours on a lot of single player games i play because i can appreciate the writing, the story, the gameplay mechanics, and sometimes just get lost in the world.
wanting the game to feel more of something is just natural. for someone that plays games only for the dopamine rush of rewards, the game would be too grindy and dragging out too much - too much dialogue, too much fluff, etcetera. but for someone that appreciates that the reward is the fun had, gameplay mechanics can always look a different way or be a different thing to make then suit different tastes.
my point is, no one cares if you want to rush through, but don't make it at the expense of the people that don't.
