Originally the Devs said they hoped to finish by July. Do you know why it's taking so much longer than they anticipated earlier this year? This isn't intended as a criticism, I'm just curious.

Personally I think it's because this remaster/rework/rename was a stupid idea. I've seen other devs try this and it usually does absolutely nothing for the title except make some of the images look arguably better. They get deep into it before they realize how much work and time it takes. Whenever I see complete remaster/rework or any other such direction a dev wants to take I drop support immediately because this happens every time like clockwork.

I put the game on the back burner and when it's done it's done. It's sad because this title was doing great, I hope the next update is worth the wait but I'm not holding my breath. Thankfully I know a bunch of websites where there are literally thousands of other titles to play until this hopefully one day returns.

it seems Groover has realized that the word remastering was foolish and finally says it is an expansion. To me the word expansion mixed with remastering reminds a manager of a trattoria who to expand his wine supply adds water to look for extra profit but comes a verification that over time the wine turns to vinegar if you add water ... as I had responded directly to him in this post,

Usually when a game counts points it is for a level of corruption or something to that effect.
Basically the level of corruption unlocks new scenes.
In here it doesn't seem to do squat. So pointless.
It would just as effective to say "Interested" vs "Not Interested".
Some of the things they say are bad girl aren't necessarily bad.

mmm for me a good girl must remain faithful to her boyfriens and in 0.55 is clear...
... And there are already different paths and the points are not just for Victoria...she can be a better girl if she agrees to flirt with David...
This means that there are already different grades of corruption in the story depending on the choice the player do for Victoria

In short the game acts like you have options for a route but the truth is you don't you are just selecting what you want to see or don't. They could have made that with a simple content menu and then no need to make the added click each time.
If you are just going to tell a linear story then do so why act like it is something it isn't.

I don't see much sense in what you say because the point system in this game is not just about corruption or no corruprion and depending on the choices opens, lesbian paths, or with David (the good guy) and with Michael (the bad guy) if, on the other hand, you want to stay faithful to the boyfriend just slap those who hit on her, or give up accepting rides in the car... or just don't peek into the affairs of the girl who is hosting Victoria to avoid being tempted to make money from porn...
In my opinion version 0.55 is perfect...I chose the Bad Girl route with Michael but...if you want you can make Vic less or more bad/good girl!

I don't follow you much in what you wrote.

in short... my opinion is that there were only 3/4 updates missing to complete season 1 and then with season 2 the dev could go back in the timeline and describe how, in a flashback, Victoria had experienced her childhood and then continue the story with multiple paths (He can also add David in Michael path or viceversa as he said) by freeing himself from the obligation of inserting an expansion which seems a bit like wanting to stretch wine with water.
it would be great if in the season 2 David watch a porn movie find out that Vic is the protagonist and at that time Michael and David can start to co-exist... but the season 1 must be closed before doing that!
That is why i still think his first message it was just an excuse that now he is trying to change the word REMASTERING with EXPANSION

Every new update is an expansion for all the games! Remastering is not needed if the Dev doesn't want change the story

I think is possible to understand the sense of my replay and the fact that I'm a fun of this game and unfortunately I was right when i said that Dev decision will be cause of a very big delay it is very sad to know that i was right in this... I loved this game as it was!

I understand where you're coming from. However, the new VN remastered expansion and the expanded ongoing storyline will be far more improved and will not be pointless but far more meaningful and worth while, as the Dev mentioned. I also don't know why it was necessary to remaster this game either? They could have just started a new chapter or season, with just the new content in an upgraded format. But I'm not a patron of this game, so it's not really for me to say. Whenever they finally finish the new version, I'll be back to play the game and hopefully as you say, it will be worth the wait. Apart from a few titles, that I always play immediately when new content drops, I'm always one or more updates behind, in the other games I'm currently playing. So no shortage of stuff to do, here either.

They are still working on it and once they finish the work and get to final testing they will announce an official release date. Some of the reasons why the remastered expansion has taken longer than anticipated has to do with the expanded new storyline, which is a continuation of the original main story, along with new renders and animations, new features, new characters, and overall improvements and more. This type of creative and quality work for the remastered expansion and organizing all of the parts being worked on and all that's involved was the reason for the delay, as the Dev mentioned in their previous updates. I definitely appreciate the good hard work that is being done for Life in Big City by Groovers Games, and I'm happy to give it my full support. You will see why soon enough.

With that said, there's a lot in the works for Life in Big City, (formerly Victoria in Big City), as their goal is to deliver something unique, hot and very entertaining for everyone to enjoy, which is another reason why this VN will be worth the wait.

Thanks to having a little extra access to the Dev Diary as a top tier supporter, all I can say is Life in Big City will be one of the hottest and most entertaining VN Games out there. This is one of many reasons why I keep saying it will be worth the wait, because I have seen the work in progress. I wouldn't say anything if I wasn't sure or didn't see it for myself. They should just mark Victoria in the Big City as COMPLETE and start a new thread for Life in the Big City with a Demo. This thread hasn't had an update in over 6 months and I believe that's the cutoff for marking this thread as abandoned.

I think as usual I came here after a month to check in ...does the developer has like an expected time of release...I saw someone said that it was expected in July but obviously due to remastering and everything it might have taken longer than that..But still i guess 3 months after july is good enough time to fill those things...and give us like an estimated timeline they might be shooting for to launch the new update? I can understand it increase hype among audience and invite haters ...but as a fan of this game previously , i just like to know there must be some answer to that.. Developer might know by now his work efficiency and can make a guess like with this speed he can complete it by this year end or it will take more time than that? I mean any approximate prediction will be better than saying coming soon as he can guess the speed of development after the amount of time he spent working on this project.

I totally understand you, friend. The goal is to finish before the end of the year, but the Dev doesn't want to give any specific date until the work is finished and the final testing is completed. Based on the progress made, I would estimate before the end of the year. But I can definitely say Life in Big City is going to be worth the wait based on what I've seen. It's going to be hot and amazing, my friend. The Dev is working hard to make sure we all get to experience something unique, hot and very entertaining.

As much as I would like to share more, I can't give away any spoilers, but we will definitely enjoy the new upcoming remastered expansion of Life in Big City very much when it is released! - I have experienced a lot of VN Games, some are awesome, some are good, and some are not so good, but Life in Big City truly stands out, big time! We will all see soon enough! ;-)

Hello Awesome Fans and Supporters!

I wanted to share a quick update on the progress of the new version of Life in Big City and show you some fresh previews. Development has been slower than I'd like due to commitments from my regular job. However, I'm dedicating all my free time to finishing this upcoming release.

I'm happy to report that a significant portion of the new version is already completed. Most scenes are nearly finalized, and now I'm tackling the programming side of things, which has been a bit more challenging than usual because of some recent changes. I’m hopeful that there won't be major bugs and that everything will come together smoothly.

I don't want to delay this release for too long. This might mean not all planned features will make it into this update, but rest assured, any missing features will be added in future updates.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your continued support and patience. You are amazing, and I just ask for a bit more time to get everything right.
