Heh, sorry for that. I'm running it on i9, 64GB, VAM on M.2 SSD. I can usually do the whole run in <3 days :D
Hi ssuukk... I was going to PM you but because I'm new and haven't posted I think PM/DM is disabled.

I tried your vamifier 3 tool and twice now (after about 2-2.5 days into the process) I've had it fall over with an exception. The first time I accidentally closed the command window when trying to grab a screenshot so I had to run it again to see what the error was. I captured it this time, but I can't link it because I'm new :/

I'm not sure if it's a bug in your tool or a problem with the file it's processing, but I think I have to start over again after I remove the offending file... but I wanted to let you know first in case you needed any reference files or logs or something. It was processing clothing item MothSlitDress.vab from a Jackaroo var file of some sort. I don't even think I need/want it so I can just delete, but I suspected you might want to know either way.

Anyway here is a text copy/paste of the error message:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Anyway, as a fellow developer, I have to say this tool seems like a massive undertaking. Judging by this thread (which I've read the last ~250 pages of) it seems like there's a lot of BS that goes along with trying to do this, so... thank you for your efforts.

Well, exactly what it says. I wasn't aware there is neutral clothing, vamifier doesn't know where to put them... pm me next time, cause I'm on vacations, so I can't fix it now.

i tried both foto2vam and facegen and in my honest opinion , with the right pictures to go off , facegen is my go to for making models.
All my creations recently have been made using facegen and then tweaked in VAM and have the best results IF you get the right pic to go off.
when using foto2vam in the past i also have had good results but they lack the textures the facegen creates which make or break the look .
i could be wrong but i believe sirap seems to use foto2vam with his looks due to the generic textures on the models and whilst they look good , they just seem like something is missing from them to finish them....the textures .
textures and decals can dramaticly change the look for the better.

here are some of my models made using facegen

Could you please detail your process a little bit more ?

I mean what kind of picture do you look for ? How many pictures do you use ? What kind of tweaks do you do in VAM ? Do you have to do anything to the textures before putting them in VaM for them to look good ?

Ok ,i will try to help but bear in mind im still VERY NOOB when it comes to this stuff.
so to start,. i would get a few pics from the web of the same person , prefferbly 4K resoulution but ive had good results from 1080p resolution also.
the best pics to use are the suggestions that facegen itself makes or as close as you can get to them. its a bit of trial and error but ive gotten away with images like the ones in the BAD section with some editing and trickery in photoshop / 3dpaint if you simply cant find a good one, BUT ive also had the best image possible that turned out awful so its trial and error to be honest.
use photoshop (or similar) to close the mouths if you cant get an image without a smile and use paint/3Dpaint to edit and remove bad shadows etc if the lighting is off.
Screenshot 2021-07-28 114839.jpg
i dont generally use a profile picture in facegen as results are not that good but i do use one when in VAM making tweaks.
once im satisfied with the facegen outcome, i throw the results in VAM , load up textures and morph and tweak the face shape with the sliders as facgen can and is most likley off alot. i use a programme onTopReplica to overlay the image i used from facegen like in this tutorial from Alter3go on youtube.

also , if the textures arent quite right or have bad patches and artifacts i also tweak the in paint/3Dpaint to fix them.
once happy with the look and texture use the sliders in tab , skin materials 1 and 2 to adjust the skin colour if needed
and job done.

these are the steps in my process to make my looks , in short which i hope are more understandable.

1. find 1 good image and edit in photoshop / paint to remove defects so to speak like bad shadows , spots , smiles etc , if required.

2.Use this 1 image in facegen and ONLY this image (no profile/ side images), if outcome is good throw the files in VAM folders and add to a model for next step. If the outcome is poor , for example ive had a good result in facegen BUT with a HUGE nose , you can fix this in facegen itself if you hold ctrl and right click and drag on the facegen image/model. (dont go mad as you can get some horrific results lol. I only use facgen like this for initial tweaks, most of the slider work is done in VAM itself.
facegen 1.jpg facegen 2.jpg facegen 5.jpg example of small tweak like shortening the nose and chin.
facegen 4.jpg example of horrifying tweak on the same model Lol. ps the morph created from facegen WILL make your VAM model look like this , so if you want to play around with it you can.

3. Once happy with facegen results , load them in VAM with textures and morphs added to a model ,Use OnTopReplica to overlay the image i used in facegen next to the model im working on and use the sliders in VAM to tweak the face shape (if needed). like this .
EDIT.... i completley forgot to mention that when using the morph file in VAM created by Facegen , i get the best results when the slider is set
to 60 to 65. DO NOT SET TO 100 as its way off .
4.When satisfyied with the shape etc , Use paint or similar if you need to and edit the textures and touch them up and your done.

i appolgise in advance if nobody can understand a word of this , this is my first time trying to explain my process to others and im very NOOBish still but i hope it helps. If unsure about anything , feel free to ask. (y)

Is some hero here proficient in converting blender models to VAM models?

Because these two are missing in VAM.

Actually, Tali does exist (by Rukk if im not mistaken)

The only ones i REALLY want is Femshep and V from CB2077

Is there a tutorial for converting Blender models into VaM? Just curious, I'm not all that familiar with it.
If you go to the Vam Hub and look under guides, or even the offical discord, you'll find what you are looking for. Here is one method, and one I mainly used.

Once you learn what nodes you need as a base with Wrap, it becomes rather easy to import custom morphs.

super helpful. If you had to guess, about how long does it take you to create a model you are happy with using this process?

This is a really good Guide.
Thx a lot for offering your FaceGen workflow :)

It is common that even with the best Texture and a created Morph File Facegen still does not create a 100% perfect matching Face Replica once being imported into Vam. The Issue here is the Genesis 2 Morph File.
Such result is not always but often.

If this still issus and you are not satisfied with the Replication look, i can also recommend using this really good explained workflow by Alter3go.

Virt-a-Mate / from 0 to replica

He also uses a Facegen Texture here at but mainly uses another technique to correct the face with morphs using the overlapped original Face Picture, together with the Replica Tool OnTopReplica.

I use PureRef for this Process.

With OTR you move the OTR Window over your opened original Face Picture , rightclick > Select Window and select your Picture Source Tool.
You can set the Picture Opacity to 75 % or 50 %.
Then you move the PureRef Window over your VAM Face and use it as AE shows.

If you prefer PureRef, the Workflow is that you load up the Picture inside PureRef and move the PureRef Window over your VAM Face .
You can set the Opacity in PureRef under Settings > Colour with a slider
