Anyone have a good written step-by-step on converting VACs to VARs?
Look at an existing var and its substructure.
Extract vac to a subdir
Then if needed move things around to have a correct var structure.
Optional: Find things that already exists freely as var to remove the bundled content to rather point to the dependency
Correct any reference if you moved things
Create meta.json (watchout for creator naming, content name and if you can licence)
Zip the whole and put a correct name: creator.content.version

Don't know if that's good written though :p

A small Oronan dump:

I hate paid shit, but I like his/her stuff a lot, and it's only 2 bucks a month. Support 'em if you like 'em.

Anyways:

Another C&G var batch. Getting into the early 2020's material where he was migrating from using large texture files and performance tweaks were needed, to instructing users to inject Custom folder with resources. This is really starting to make me appreciate the true value of VAR.
Coming from Illusion games this lesson is all too real. VAR is basically the Virt-A-Mate zipmod, if you will. One reason why I liked the modding scene for Illusion games so much is that they espouse not touching the game files directly, but using zipmods to load their mods. This means that instead of needing to constantly back up your entire game, you can back up a single folder of all your mods.

VAR achieves something incredibly similar, which I love. Touching game files directly on the user's end is a huge no-no for me, so anything that comes as a zip with a Custom and Save folder makes me cringe.

Maybe I'll take it upon myself to convert a lot the older stuff I've got to VAR too, if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Oh by the way, here's everything Vambo has done to date. He uses the usual suspects like Oronan/NoStage3 free hairs, free morphs, free clothing, but some of his older stuff uses Stenzelo resources which I have none of. As long as you have most of the popular free stuff, these should work just fine. I don't have the energy to make depend.txt files for each and every one (there's 65), so you'll just have to bear with. I might try and convert these all to VAR in the future though, because hardmods suck.

Drag and drop the Saves folder within each to your VaM main folder, load from Saves/scene/VAMBO in-game. He also recommends installing

Anyone need a specific scene benchmarked? I may or may not be privy to a 5900x ,3080 and a valve index.

163 Avg FPS in GPU Benchmark.bat
181 Avg FPS in CPU High Physics Benchmark.bat
196 Avg FPS in CPU Benchmark.bat
43 Avg FPS in ClothSim Benchmark.bat ?
226 Avg FPS in Crypt Benchmark.bat
242 Avg FPS in Hair Benchmark.bat
74 Avg FPS in HairRender Benchmark.bat
311 in HairSim Benchmark.bat (but it doesn't seem to load properly, just a brownish background?)
Thats the setup I'm using...nice. Are you having any issues with random reboots, not being able to use 3600 RAM etc? Im having the such using an MSI x570 Ace MB and GSKILL 3600 RAM. Seems a lot of folks are having issues with the new 5000 series CPUs. Let me know, would appreciate it.
