That makes sense because he got pissed when someone uploaded all of his work on a zip folder in late December and commented "are you serious you leave me no choice" as a reply (I thought he (it/she idk) was going to try and do something to the person who posted it, but of course the admins could care less) Then the next day I looked at this thread and that reply was gone along with the user. My thought was that the admin deleted the guy (presumably bamair's smurf account) because he complained about the guy leaking his designs. Now a couple of weeks later we have the same type of file aimed at getting people to download Bamair's stuff and it now includes a script to delete your files. Seems sus and sucks for people who do a lot of their own custom work. =/
I would recommend backing up your files to another drive every couple of weeks. Should do it anyways since we all know Vam can be unpredictable with new updates. It's a blow to the community, but as we know it is just 1 or 2 bad actors, most just want to help one another.
Yeah, I don't think the creator of the torrent is a malicious person, but they probably were not careful enough when many people provided them content. Pretty sure they didn't inspect all of them, but I never had a problem with content from that torrent, (I didn't dl everything) and I hope you all won't have issues like that crazy script. Be careful indeed!

Wow, just getting caught up on this "malicious code" mess.
I used PowerGrep and added VAR to the zip group and searched for the string "FileManagerSecure.DeleteFile" and this file came up.
TIfa.FUTA.1.var::Custom\Scripts\Gaze_3.cs
121 FileManagerSecure.DeleteFile(f);
Looks like some files are being littered with this lately. This is literally the first file I have seen with this in it. But, as of now, I will be checking all my stuff! tread lightly and be smart. Check your files people.

Also question, since anon is a little picky atm on my side so i can't download it now, i wonder, did U packed scenes with Yours looks repacks, or resaved them as legacy\appearance presets?

Install, click on options and scroll down to Archive Options. In the "Add" box put VAR and hit the save button.
Select the folder with your VARs, RARs and other archives that you downloaded from here. Next go to the "Search" section and select "Text" then search for FileManagerSecure.DeleteFile(f) and press "search".
This will show you all the files that contain files that call "FileManagerSecure.DeleteFile(f)" in them. Clean them by editing the JSON and delete the script or just delete them, up to you.

I found 47 using PowerGrep -.- Do they actually delete files, or is read-only preventing them from doing something? It's also possible I never used those scripts.

I myself have not downloaded any files that have this malicious code. But that Tifa poster also wrote in a strange way which makes it seem even more suspicious. As many have stated before; CHECK ALL DOWNLOADED FILES! follow the steps the user celine-dijonnaise posted earlier.

I would search for " FileManagerSecure.DeleteFile(f)" since the command FileManagerSecure.DeleteFile can be used in scripts with out malicious intent. Things like Sexassistant and UIAssist are valid uses for that command.. but not if it contains (f) in it.
