Dumb question but is it possible to swap the models (Characters) in a scene ? I just cant seem to understand how to do it. i can load .var characters from the main menu but after that no idea what to do

Not that dumb - there's quite a learning curve.
Easiest ways:
1. Edit Mode - Select Next Person Atom until you're at the one you want (checking clothes/hair to make sure it's the right one is probably easiest), then in the General tab you can give it a name, select Physical (plugins?)/Pose/Appearance, and Save. That saves it as an option you can use to overwrite other characters. For compatibility with other scenes if there's scripted stuff, just select Appearance when Loading (same thing again, but Select Existing in the top-right on the General tab).

OR

2. BrowserAssist addon, Preset Appearance, load it over the top of an existing character. But there aren't Apperances from every .vam - a lot are only inside their own Scene, so you'll need to make a preset from that.

There's a plugin called SceneNinja by Venkman which lets you swap models as you load the scene, saving a lot of time as opposed to loading a scene and waiting for its models to load that you're probably gonna swap anyway. Set the plugin as a session plugin, go into the custom UI, and set the primary male/female appearances to those that you want to use instead. It also lets you set plugin presets that can load or merge load onto the models when you load the scene.

Sorry this maybe stupid question, i'm new to VR.

my headset is a meta quest 2. Do i need steamVR to run this game ?

edit: I only have to download VaM_Updater.zip from the patreon post and don't have to download anything (14.88 GB game files) from OP, right ?

Correct. Place the Updater in a new, empty directory, and it will download the most recent version of VaM from the original source (which of course is also about 15 Gig ;-) ).

I'm not familiar with that Headset in particular, but if that's how you normally run VR games, this should work for VaM as well. I do have a Valve Index, and I always start SteamVR first, and once it's loaded and ready to go, I start VaM in VR mode.

I'm not familiar with that Headset in particular, but if that's how you normally run VR games, this should work for VaM as well. I do have a Valve Index, and I always start SteamVR first, and once it's loaded and ready to go, I start VaM in VR mode.

Just scroll up a few posts, or to the previous page, or the page before, or basically every single page since v1.22 has been released -- or just use the search function at the very top. This has been asked and answered many times before: the 1.21 key still works.

It is interesting to have interacting talking model, but until it plugs into a system, that also control face emotions and gestures and what-not, it is still an experimental stage, where it is not ready for use... It also seems a little bit reluctant to participate at the moment... ;)

Actually it looks farther away in the future than I thought. First, the language models are full of censoring, so it would need a local one, like alpaca. Another thing it will need is proper hardware. I don't think we can host a good AI with current gaming oriented PC parts. Alpaca and GPT4All aren't that good.

Yes, it also needs all those stuff mentioned by you. But if it can understand our inputs, implementing those features shouldn't be an issue. Just train the model to answer with non voiced scripts aswell

So kinda new to this "game", I tried a few times but I really don't get how the grab feature is supposed to work.

Like if I want to give a handjob to some nice futa, in possession mode with Index controllers, how do I do it without :
1. The dick always getting out of my hand because I am not really grabbing it
2. Clicking the trigger button and suddenly grabbing it too much, basically bending it instead of sliding over it
3. Clicking the grip button which simply ends the hand possession
?

Tried to play with different bindings but nothing works and I feel like I am missing something obvious.

Also bonus question why is the POV view in a lot of scene (or all of them? ) not correctly centered, it is basically centered on one eye instead of somewhere in the middle ?

So I deleted and then recreated my account for security reasons. Someone had asked me for my set of morphs, and I want to know if anyone still wants them.

I am not really interested into animation, I want to be the one doing things. In the scenes I am talking about there weren't any animations (or they were optional) except for your partner, it was mostly UI buttons to set up things, like placing characters or going easily into POV mode/possession. So pure kinematics (I think ? Not an animator.)

What I would imagine is to have something like a magnet I guess ? Some margin of tolerance. If you are in grab mode near something, you are not releasing it unless going far from it.
Or have a soft/hard grab system with 2 different buttons. The trigger button is basically the hard grab, what the game already use to move arms and the like.
And the soft grab to grabs things while still being able to slide over them, or caress them, or whatever. Basically touching with some constraints.

I also did try to change the ingame finger settings, or just touching (not pressing) the A/B/Trigger buttons since it slightly change your finger positions, but I didn't get the impression it changed anything in the physics department.
