why only the upper part? can't the whole character be tied to an empty atom like that? so that when the empty atom moves, everything that is tied to it moves?

if they are just in a normal pose then yes, although it is better to disable physics during the movement. But if they are under control, for example, of a timeline plugin, then the movement most likely will not work and they will return to their original place

Yes. most content. But a few scenes are made for VR, and would require effort to make work without.
Whenever I download a collection from a torrent here (kittymocap etc) i get a .rar file instead of a .var file. I already tried different browsers. When I download each part seperatly i get the usual individual .var files (many small files) but the download speed is very slow this way.
Any way I can download a full collection in .var ? Or can I just rename it from .rar to .var and it should work ? Even though its one huge like 4gb file instead of several (10s,50s,100s) small ones ?

it's working as intended. it depends on the uploader for that particular collection. some of them require ALL the .rar files to unpack and some of them contain vars only.
that's usually how most of us download it. your best bet if your internet is very slow is to request a torrent.

go to the physics of this clothing and play with the sliders there, adjust to your taste! if the top or bottom floats, adjust gravity! well, if it doesn't help, turn off the physics at the top, uncheck the box!

Steam kicked Vam out of its store, and it's unlikely that Vam will appear there again
Apparently the physics sliders did not solve the issue, weird that it started happening as it never occured before. Could it be the new update or possibly a morph that is conflicting the clothing?
it floats because its either hitting a collider (that's too big or shouldn't be there) or you have the collision radius or collision power for the clothing too high. but you said its happening with all skirts, so its definitely the related to first. try this, add

plugin to the person atom, then click show previews, it will show all the colliders, now see if the glute colliders are sticking out way too much or in general any oddities with the colliders.also check if there is any invisible CUAs or atoms under the skirt. some creators like to use them to reduce clipping

There are a shitton of .jpg files in my addonpackages folder. Can i savely delete them or does this ruin the scene selection ? or should i move it somewhere else ?
was it before steam got infested with hentai games? Knowing what other games bring with patches I don't think VAM does anything outstanding in terms of adult content, maybe VOLVO did not like monetization method or whoever checking on game wasn't in mood.
