Yeah, I'm now at a point where I'm holding off on this remake because I'm going to inevitably compare it to the 0.48 version and there's no way it can compare favorably to that.Oh I'll probably go back to it at some point, for the scenes alone. Less violence, boo. I'm guessing no "almost raped" bad end scene, boo. The clothing store is currently locked away which means the photography event is locked away, big boo.
From reading his big walls of text for the remake, I'm not even sure the café mini-events will come back, HUGE BOO if that is the case. I absolutely loved those, especially that pervy old man (I can relate as I'm getting up there in age as well).
Basically, there's so much less content as he rebuilds the game and story that I'm going to have wait until it's at least close to being back to a similar point as the 0.48 release.
I do hope it turns out well though, as he has a talent for making some great perverted scenes with decent animation and story. Hell, even the "porno" in the library was good.

That scene was so depressing. Here I was thinking I'd get some early-game rape action and then that one dude decides to grow a conscience. XD

Haven't played this or the original for that matter, just want to know something, is this a game where you choose who you can fuck? If it is, can I just go for a lesbian route?

Then you will likely not like this if you're that put off by female MC and only want lesbian. In the previous version, there was only small a bit of lesbian as sort of a side story. It's mostly all guy action. Q. Will I use some of the previous events here?
A. Yes, with some changes.
Q. Will this one have rape?
A. In one way or another - Yes.
Q. Why change the story?
A. Because I found it extremely hard to justify a virgin who just lost her mother to fuck guys who had something to do with said mother's death. I lack both talent and experience in writing that in a believable way. Plus - having mother around opens more opportunities. But this explanation can also be found in the walls of text I linked to previously.
Q. Lesbian only content?
A. Yes, you have at least three female side characters (not counting Mother here). Choose one, or all. Of course it's only applicable when there is actually content for them created.

Like I was trying to say that I sort of liked the story in the old one but this is a new take on it and I understand that it felt stretched, been there when I write and know that feeling all to well. I like to point out something that sort of got me and that was the text skipping on its on in the office, secretary job on first entering the office when you first meet Jared. I do like how you meet the people there are a bit of changes in it from the other game and this one feels more casual to me or more of a just chance meeting.

i probably posted this before when you originally dropped those "walls of text" but since it for real happened i'll say it again. just the fact that you went back through and played your own game with a critical eye to see what it had become is fucking amazing. that told me how much you care about your own game and made me want to retry it (i think i had maybe played one of the early releases and wasn't impressed). so this is great. i did play a lot of .48, but never quite finished it. i know it will take some time to catch back up to where you were, but really liking the direction AND quality (holy crap) of the remake =)

After having read several different posts from the dev I am very interested in checking this out... I do remember playing it before, now I want to play through the whole game AND the remake just to see all of the differences

Lots of improvements, both visual and mechanical. The new sprites in particular look great. I always had to squint in the old version to see what was going on. Only nitpicks are that some of the furniture assets look a little too stretched/low-res, and I'm not a fan of the map sizes -- they're a little too condensed and abstracted for my taste. For example, I know the apartment is not literally sandwiched between both areas of interest from a story perspective, but the way it's set up really takes away from the sense that Cara, Ajax, and the mother are trying to keep a low profile and stay hidden out of sight. But at least there's less needless walking, so I am thankful for that.

Also, one thing I hope for. If going the naïve/submissive route that the MC remains somewhat naïve and never goes total slut. It's more enjoyable when the girl continues to resist and not want the advances of perverted men even if she physically enjoys it (against her will). Even if in the end, it becomes just a token resistance on her part so that she doesn't think she looks or acts like a slut to the outside world (even though those perverted men knows she secretly is).
It's a hard balance to strike, but hopefully that's the direction you are going with that route. So many games disappoint me when the girl starts off resisting and then at the end she's a total slut and no longer tries to hold onto the shreds of her dignity and stops trying to fight for any shred of decency she can hold onto.

Unfortunately your opinion is ill-informed... I am a Patreon of Doki Ninja (just a $5 one) and if you were following the progress of this game over the past 2-3 months, you could never say that.
Basically Doki reviewed his own game and did not like it - in fact, he gave it a right royal panning!! He then put the changes & redesign he envisioned to his patreons to see if they wanted him to continue with the original game or re-develop. A very high percentage of his Patreons (I can't remember the exact %age) opted for the re-design... thus "Vis Major: Awakening" was born!

Perhaps the dev cares more about the people paying/donating than people that are getting it for free?
What his patrons want is far more important than what people on this forum want (outside of the ones that are also patrons). If most of his patrons voted to have him do it, then he's only doing what the people paying him want him to do.

You're wrong, as @riddikk91 said, his patrons voted for redesign, and don't attribute to yourself the thought of "most of F95".
The facts were explained to you, it's your choice to keep trolling.
About assets - I do hope to eventually replace at least some of the worst looking offenders.
House location - let's just say it's an unfortunate accident that Ajax bought an apartment there. :FuckYea:

And I am completely with you about the corruption thing! I also dislike games/stories where girls get blackmailed/drugged/raped or whatever and go full slut mode from then on. :FeelsBadMan:
