You guys get very defensive over mild criticism. Not every person here is a freeloader. Even if they don't pay, idk why you get so offended cause a dude pointed out that we got 2 updates in a year.

They're a one-person team who puts out quality, I for one don't mind a slower release schedule if it results in this kind of good shit.

I think you're exaggerating slightly, the pace hasn't been the speedest but it's not slow enough to last for decades.
Obviously I would prefer the devs finishing at a reasonable pace but I think the current pace is acceptable because of the accompanying quality. If the quality dips then I'm sure my opinion would change rapidly.

Asking why he "is not even pretending to make better progress" isn't constructive criticism.
Also, he is literally taking the worst date he could find from this thread, which was a pretty much baseless assumption, and extrapolated "another 2 update year".
I mean, i won't tackle him for his pessimism, but saying there won't be a lot of updates next year either because someone in this thread without any information said something is just plain stupid. This is not harsh criticism, any way you look at it.
It ties in to what i said a few pages back. This thread is not the right place to complain, since we are on a pirate site known for uploading games without the developers consent.
If said games are not getting updates as fast as someone here wants it to, then he / she / they should complain about it not here, but on a discord server or wherever they can communicate with the dev directly.

The "let's not pretend" phrase is a small part of a paragraph saying "predictions were wrong again when they shoulfn't have been", which I find completely accurate. The pages before the last update show what a mess it was.
Accurate extrapolation or not this year there were only two updates. Nothing makes the idea of that happening again unreasonable (hopefully not). I see little fault or ill intent in his points.

No, it isn't, but is not the point, if you want your criticism to reach the dev, put it where he is more likely to find it, also, Discord has a pm system, and if you use Discord it means you're most likely a paying patron, which gives more weight to your input.
Voicing your concerns here is kind like to go to a flea market and complain about the companies that make the products being sold there, nobody cares because it benefits no one.
Of course not, but acting as if it was a fact it will happen is unreasonable as well, I'm not against people having their worries, so long as they are being fair on their assumptions.
Pretty much, content is quality so I'm not personally worried. If I was financing the production, I would be though, but I'd just stop the subscription if it got to that point. It isn't like asking about updates here of all places does anything other than clutter the thread. I'd be sad if this game got abandoned, but I'm not fooling myself. The porn-game-financed-by-patreon market is nearly entirely composed of abandoned games.
If the people working on this game are doing it entirely financed by patreon, then yeah, it's pretty slow, but I somewhat doubt they don't have a job in addition to it.
Game may be more streamlined if it worked off the more usual visual novel format. Where characters have pose art that cycles depending on the text, and only CGs for specific event scenes, usually most of the porn in 'em XD
A remark besides the point.... many of the indie porn visual novels, this one included, seem to like putting a ton of CGs in even with small talking scenes composed of dozens of slightly modified stills, even with something like Honey Select, it takes a while to put it all together. I also seemed to notice this one doesn't just use the stock animations, rather edits of them... plenty of stock assets, but visuals are way better than the default HS install. Even with the guides out there, I couldn't get mine to look as good as what's in this game.
I'd be curious to know the time it takes for each part of the content, but I'd wager the CGs and animations is the brunt of it.
Always wonder why small teams do that to themselves.... but I'm rambling now.

Everyone who follows this game can see that the updates came out really slowly this year. I don't think anyone is overstepping any boundaries by pointing that out on here. And of I say this shit in discord, what do you expect to happen. You think he is gonna realize all of a sudden that its been a while and then drop it tomorrow. People just want to vent sometimes without getting shit talked by random people

Exactly, we all know that, there's no need to point it out, we're well aware of what we got ourselves into.
Who knows, he may or may not, we're not aware of what the dev's life is like, or the amount of effort he's really putting into this, all we know is what he tells us. And if you're worried you'd be roasted on the Discord, I can tell you that is more than likely your wording rater than the message what triggers waves of anger (in most cases anyway).
That's fine and all, just make sure to phrase it in a way that's clear that you are just venting off instead of demanding something your not owned.
Saying "this dude it's a $%&* for not updating this often" is quite different from "I wish updates didn't took so long", they both carry the same underlying message, but the intention is not, language is simply just harder when you lack all the other tools you usually have for such things.
I'll refrain of posting further about this anymore, since I believe it has gotten a bit out of topic as is often the case.
I mean ok dude but if you read any of the past messages, no one is attacking or insulting the dev at all. The only people who are actually being confrontational are the ones defending the dev. Pretty much all of the comments are "I like the game, but I wish it didn't take so long."
