We have a good news.




Today we have finished the code and pre-alpha testing for the new version. Starting tomorrow we will be doing the translation for the English version. It will take two or three days. After that, it will take some time to proofread the translation and test the translated version. In any case, the new version is almost ready. We'll release it next weekend, or a little later.

Over the next week, we will post the devlog more often, and we will inform you of actual news about the new version.

Even if you don't chase after others she cheats. By your logic we wont get any of girls then as all the girls have affinity/love building for other characters that we cant influence. Since cheating does not seem to be influenced by any triggers and all the female characters are building affinity to male characters as soon as they cross from best friends to lovers you are going to be cheated on regardless if you maxed stats and been loyal (though with slow progress on other paths they probably be at lovers with other guys long before MC gets there). As for story writing Hermione is trying to get Ron or Harry's attention, Astoria is after someone of her social standing and Lunah was happy enough regardless who kissed her in her last quest...so what is going to be reward for all that ridiculous grinding? But fine if you going to have cheating put it in tags and give players some options to at least confront and break up.

It all sounds pointless as hell. What is the point of it all then.

Concerning Ginny, one could say Harry is her "one and only dreamboy" (like in book /movie), and when she is with you, she is cheating on Harry, from her point of view. This is very clear to MC from the beginning, so there should be nothing to complain.

Devlog Oct/21/2020

So the translation of the new version into English is finished. It took us three days. The update turned out to be much larger than the previous one, as much as 17,000 words! Unfortunately, our English is not very good, so the translation requires correction and proofreading by a native speaker. We are very grateful to those of our subscribers and Patrons who agreed to help us with this!

In any case, part of the proofreading is already done, and now we are waiting for completion. We hope the text passes one or two more checks before being released to the public. In the meantime, we are waiting for the completion of the first proofreading to begin the localization tests.

As I already wrote, the new version is one big event, the Christmas ball. You will see two new quests, one of them is the ball itself, and the second takes place during the ball. At the beginning we didn't want to make it a separate quest, but you will see that this is a very important event.

The ball turned out to be very variable and complex. To some extent, it sums up the intermediate results of your game. This is not the final yet, but it is already very close to it. In particular, you will be able to see that NPCs that you have not paid enough attention to may not want to be alone and find another mate. It won't always end well. You will also be able to see the denouement of some of the earlier events during the ball. And, of course, you will have new questions, the answer to which you can see in the next two versions.

The game time has been extended until December 25, and the new version ends the morning of the day after the ball. We also ordered two new music tracks for the new version, and redesigned several backgrounds to better match the spirit of the holiday.

We are still planning to release an alpha this weekend.

Wands and Witches 0.90Alpha is ready and available for our $10+ Patrons!
As always with the latest releases, it turned out to be more than we had planned. The size of the game has grown by 17,000 words and 27 scenes.
We remind you once again that all new content takes place after December 21st. The game time has been extended until December 25. You must use the old save, or play again before the end of December to see the new content. We strongly do not recommend using cheats to change the date in the game, this can completely break it. The events of this update are very variable, and it is almost impossible that two playthroughs will lead to two identical balls.
Even though we put in a lot of pre-alpha testing, we're pretty sure we couldn't find all the bugs. So, if you find any, or you just think that events in your game are developing illogically, then we ask you to tell us about it.

What has already been done:
- Two new quests. The first is the Christmas ball. The second takes place during the ball, and will fail if you don't complete it before the ball is over.
- New outfit for almost all characters.
- New, more varied sprite for Ginny. So far we have only used it for the ball, but in the next versions we will replace her old sprite in the rest of the events too.
- Three backgrounds have been redesigned to better match the holiday spirit.
- Two new soundtracks.
- Animations for 7 scenes out of 27 are ready.

What we have to do before the public version:
- Catch and fix the remaining bugs.
- Complete the remaining animations.
- We have ordered another soundtrack, and we will add it to the game too.
- We are waiting for one of our Patrons to do the final proofreading for the English localization. Many thanks to him for that!

We will release beta and public versions as soon as they are ready. This largely depends on the activity of alpha testers. We will definitely finish the remaining animations in two weeks. So we think you can see the next releases in early November.

I feel like this game could use more gay and lesbian content across all characters, you know, leave the preference entirely to the player. I imagine the male player character chasing after Ron, and the female player character chasing after Astoria. Also, not making McGonagall and Madam Hooch datable was a real missed opportunity. If your relationship is not strong enough in early months you will sometimes found her having sex with Ron after some trigger quest. Also in Ball quest, if you don´t take her as a date to the Ball and your relationship is not strong enough (achieve lover status) she will have sex with the NPC who escorted her to the Ball.

Like that, MC himself decides if Hermione is cheating or not. So if it is a "cheating game" or not is dependent on the players liking

Ginny's "soul mate" is Harry, and thats not changeable. MC is her "Harry-Substitute", and MC knows that definitely.
Which means, MC can date her inspite of that, or break with her. All players choice, just fair. (Cheating game - LOL).
