The closest to a "normal" romantic interest in the game for Krowly is Alice (the next door neighbour), and she's only having sex with him.

Because stupid people have stupid reactions when there's a character who's not "them" (better known as the MC) doing sexual things with any of the women, despite those women not being in a relationship with "them" (the MC)...
Indeed, the characters don't care (up to a point), and that's part of the world setting that's blatantly obvious to anyone who bothers to read the dialogue/text.
They care, insofar as it's all consensual.
For clarification purposes though, Derek tops Krowly, and so far Taisha just gives titfucks.

Is the game still ridiculously long, difficult, and confusing to figure out, while purposely adding long delays in-between sex scenes to kill the mood, because the developer thinks quantity of mundane tasks is better than quality of content?
Also, did the dev add a quest yet, to inform you of what to do when you first start the game, or does the game still begin with giving you absolutely zero direction, which causes most people to just quit, revealing why is Patreon is only $3600.00 a month, when it could be $10,000.00+ given his superior art quality?
Oh, and is the walkthrough still horribly confusing, not because the person made a bad walkthrough, but because the game's design is so bad, it naturally causes any attempt at a walkthrough to be terrible, no matter how thorough they try to be with making it?

take the path next to the goblin caves, then go north some till you can head west.
So I managed to get to lvl 4, but I still don't have Magic Shield. Everytime I read the book in the evening, it talks about fairy dust and if I have some, I just pass out and then I relearn the Sleep spell and gain 5 exp. I can't beat the ghost at the old tower because I don't have Magic Shield. I assume this is a bug unless I am missing something?
Turns out this is a bug and there is already a hotfix out. I still don't get any text besides the 2 exp though. Seems it still is bugged if you missed out on a spell.

I am legit shocked by how good this game is. Its the Stardew Valley I always wanted. The gay or futa stuff is kinda meh for me, but I commend the effort put in the huge amount of scenes this game has. And unlike the vast majority of hgames, the porn is actually integrated with the gameplay.
