(this post as a whole might make your head spin and hurt, you've been warned, lol)

Early on she calls the MC "dad", without us even having to input relations (I think). I have just scimmed thru the actual script file of the game. Looking at dialogues where Chloe adresses the MC. In the beginning, when they're still at that cabin or whatever, I think it was a cabin of sorts. It's been so long so I dont remember and I'm sure as hell aint restarting this game. So I'm looking at the script and dialogues. That part of the game, she mostly says "Dad".
But after that it's almost exclusively [mc_name] That is btw, the actual variable for MC's name, whether you named him Mike, or Dumbledore or whatever, so when you see your name in a dialogue the script in this case uses [mc_name] to 'pull' the name you named the protagonist. So early on, when Chloes calls him Dad, that is literally "Dad" in the script, no variable, just the dev intentionally writing Dad, not stepdad or [relation/name] just "dad" pure and simple.
Example of one the first or so interaction with Chloe in the game, how it looks in the scriptfile: (i'll put it in spoilers to not make this post stupid long lol)
And I believe the next example is still the same part of the game, as it's somewhere after them fishing:
Somewhat early in 0.5 (obvious mini spoilers if you havent played 0.5)
And one last example from somewhat early on in the game I believe, so this shouldn't be a spoiler for anyone I hope, in this spoiler I'll just resort to showing a pic instead of code as I think I've shown enough of the script literally making Chloe adress him by name (Note, just for this example I renamed the MC to "MC")
This might've been the most pointless 'comment' I've ever made, or maybe not lol.
At the end of the day, it's not really super important. But if the dev/game tries to flirt with the whole 'incest' tag, it's not doing a very good job. I mean, if the 'daughter' calls her 'dad' by name, you really dont get the impression that even if/when they bang, it's incest.
But it still makes me wonder why the dev basically hardcoded her saying "Dad" the first few lines in the game when adressing the MC. And then switch to calling him by name. Can't really say that "oh the dev is afraid of Patreon" or whatever, because he is STILL using "Dad" in the very early part of the game.
Perhaps there's a line somewhere in the game where they say something like "oh she's my step-daughter" or something like that. But that happens rarely, if at all, making it have almost no impact of the 'vibe'.
For a while, I just figured, hey maybe they're trying to pretend to the others, that they're not related (including step-relation) just to not show off some sort of weakness or whatever.
I found one line in the script that refers to her as stepdaughter:
"mc "You've got one minute to apologize to my stepdaughter - unless you want to lose your other arm.""
So it is mentioned at least once (probably a few more times but I can't be arsed to search the entire script, my point is made) that she's his stepdaughter. (a quick search the word "stepdaughter" appears a total of ONE time in the ENTIRE script. Not counting potential "step-daughter" and other spellings/variations)
But again, she seems to be a stepdaughter that calls him "Dad"early on, which I assume is what she's been doing before the game started as well then. Why the sudden change to calling him by name. Like I said, to make any sense of it, I would just have to pretend that they're intentionally hiding from others, that they're 'related'.
Again, this was probably a pointless and meaningless post, but I had nothing better to do at the moment, so I figured, why not dive into the script and take a look. And yes, *almost* the entire game(so far) it's [mc_name] and not dad or something relation-based when Chloe adresses him.
So in *my* opinion, I still say, that if anyone's here for the 'incest' part of the game, they'll be disappointed. EVEN if you deem step-relations to be incest, AND they eventually f-ck, nothing leading up to it feels like actual incest. So again, her calling him dad or something along those line, would "sell" the idea of incest more. Now it just feels like a trick to pull in "fans of incest games" without really giving it.
I'm sure not everyone calls their stepmom/dad, mom/dad, but do indeed call them by name. But that aint the case here. She started the game, and most likely prior to the game, calling him dad.
Is this important? Nah. Just saying that it feels a bit misleading to claim this has or will have incest. As the game doesn't really give you even a pinch of that 'vibe', mainly due how Chloe adresses her 'stepdad' after the first few minutes of gameplay. Most important thing is if the game's good. And it's..decent enough imo. But this was about a certain tag. Just saying, as someone is bound to throw a hissyfit because I "diss" their favorite game lol. I'm NOT dissing anything here
Hopefully this wasn't too much of a slog to get thru
