Yes, the characters react in exaggerated ways; that's standard for the JP romcom genre. If you don't like romcoms this game probably won't change your mind.

I played this game literally 5 years ago (in a foreign language), so my memory is basically just impressions and feels at this point. I commented at length on the game contemporaneously in a Discord channel, but I can't find the logs to jog my memory.
