Yes, the characters react in exaggerated ways; that's standard for the JP romcom genre. If you don't like romcoms this game probably won't change your mind.
I don't mind exaggerated reactions. In fact, it's one of the main attractiveness for Japanese eroges. Their comedy hits different (and right) compared to Western VNs for me.

I do mind though the overuse of misunderstandings to pad the runtime, which this game is guilty as heck of. And it isn't exclusive to romcoms, sitcoms also introduce wacky and convoluted plot points because the characters are incapable of having a conversation like a normal human would.

Coming from someone that is also sensitive to uncreative trope recycling: maybe you're just more sensitive to misunderstandings as a plot device? Have you played the School Days series? Misunderstandings power much of the plot there (the wacky and convoluted plot points are the reason to play!). What I like about the series is that, unlike typical moege which focus on cute girls doing cute things (e.g., eating sweets and ice cream) with tons of vapid dialog, there's actual movement to the story. For the most part, characters aren't just stereotypes acting out their stereotypical roles (other than Kotonoha, who is supposed to be a sort of subversion of the Mary Sue devoted girlfriend). There's a detailed setting that's explored across the various routes. There's a ton of dialog choices and a hugely branching narrative with wacky and interesting things happening on almost every path.

Perhaps this game reminded me, if only a bit, of what I liked about the School Days series.

Seems like there's a text box issue in the 0.txt file in game.
0 clue on how the guys in the thread managed to fix it for previous mentions but until someone manages to 100% the game there might still be a few instances to be found .
So far you can progress through at lest 3 character routs without issue but since there are at least 8 its up to you to see if you wanna wait. I'm running game on jap locale so I can confirm that's not the issue.

So how much is the conversation in this one?
Is it brief like in Solvalley School and Treasure of Nadia?
Is it medium length like in DDLC and Harem Hotel?
Or is it super long super boring wall of text like in dating sim?

When I translated this VN, I ran into the problem that it used the Japanese version of Nscripter, so I had to force the script to accept English characters.
How?
By adding the following (without quotes):
Dialogue: after each name ">"
Pause: ">" after @
MC's Thoughts: "[]>" before each line of dialogue
Quote: '...' (if I use "...", it takes it as a command)
If the dialogue is too long, I have to cut it in half and add a new line of though or dialogue.
I have to leave some things in Japanese, translate others.

The errors are due to the fact that, given the number of dialogs, I forgot some of these commands.

For example:
The error: a quotation mark is missing after the question mark and before the comma.
("You were popular in class, right?",*tt1204)

This case:

Below the dialogue are two lines of thoughts from the MC, which need []> before each line, like this

[]>A strong thrust at the moment of ejaculation.
[]>Dobugawa-san screamed as my penis crushed her womb.

To fix all this I need to replay every single route and choice...
You can edit 0.txt with notepad++ and fix it or wait until I double-check everything

Nothing prevented you from translating it yourself 199 years earlier.
Not trying to spam you too much as I've been able to fix most things with notepad just a question on how you do linebreaks for long sentences specifically this line:

[]>Dobugawa-san's house is surprisingly normal.
[]>I figured since they throw lavish parties and send a car to pick up their daughter, they must live in a fantastic mansion, like the Western-style houses you see in mystery novels.
[]>It is, of course, a sumptuous house. Compared to the []>Kakitsubata's house, the entrance hall alone was several times larger.
[]>There is no doubt that they're a wealthy family.

the symbol is there but no matter where i try to break the long sentence it still gives error
(I can wait for the rest but it 3 lines before an ending lol dont know if im just unlucky)

I just split the 2nd sentence with

[]>I figured since they throw lavish parties and send a car to pick up their daughter,
[]>they must live in a fantastic mansion, like the Western-style houses you see in mystery novels.

Well, my 0.txt is updated with that route too now. I may or may not do the remaining 3 routes, and I'm definitely not gonna be chasing down all the normal routes.

Here is the problem: []>It is, of course, a sumptuous house. Compared to the []>Kakitsubata's house, the entrance hall alone was several times larger.

It has to be:

[]>It is, of course, a sumptuous house. @>Compared to the Kakitsubata's house, the entrance hall alone was several times larger.

or

[]>It is, of course, a sumptuous house.
[]>Compared to the Kakitsubata's house, the entrance hall alone was several times larger.

You can't use the "[]>" in the middle of a phrase. It always has to be at the beginning of each sentence per line.

Damn, people in this school almost as eccentric as in the one I finished.
Only our giants weren't able to break doors.

Poor MC can't catch a break.
