Why did this get eh abandoned tag? Like, I know its been 7 months since the last update. But other games on this website have around that long or longer update periods and still don't have the "abandoned" tag.

The tagging system is not automatic, which means either someone reported this thread or a mod is actively following it

Sad to see the abandoned tag but the last update was like 7 months ago and the last post on patreon was in march so the tag makes sense.

The Abandoned tag doesn't appear in the defined list of tags , but it seems to get attached when the developer doesn't update the game thread for about 6 months, and doesn't provide updates about when a release can be expected.

That's just my observation. I did not find a documented rule for it anywhere in the F95 forums.

The developer's patronage websites didn't have any updated info about this game either since the end of 2024.

Bro, literally the first sentence in the article you linked says: "not to be confused with Prefix Tags". It's a prefix, like the VN. It becomes part of the thead title and even gets rendered at that location.

Thanks cuthbert_binns! I suspected it was a prefix tag. My search parameters were probably wrong, and so it didn't show up.

The FBI needs to figure out who keeps kidnapping these adult game devs. One day everything is fine, then the next day they're gone without a trace. Are they all being rounded up and taken to some sort of underground lair for nefarious purposes? Should we start a search party? Is there a tip line? Do we need to set up an America's Most Wanted-esque television program called Adult Game Devs: The World's Most Dangerous Profession?

If you're talking about removing from F95, I disagree - because then no one would ever find those games, and new players might motivate devs to return.

Also, there have been reported cases - at least one that I know of - where a game was marked as abandoned, despite the dev making active updates on their site about it.

Okay, The way you explained this makes sense now. I always thought once a game is abandoned, it wasn't getting anymore updates. Like the Dev has given up on the game. I'm glad you explained without all the trolling lol.

Yeah, I think this got abandoned a while ago, which sucks because I actually thought it was starting out really well, but that seems to be the norm now. Put out one or two, maybe even three updates and then drop it. Sorry, I've just been seeing that a lot lately

I think a lot of newer games that get abandoned on here have to do with one of several things.

1. The dev does not think they are making the amount of money they think they should be.
2. The game is not as popular as the dev thinks it should be. Hence #1.
3. The dev finds out that making a game is not as easy as they thought it would be.

In addition to those reasons, I would add #4: real life happens.

The developer believes they have time, but circumstances change and working on an AVN is no longer possible. Not to mention that developers are not immortal and illness and death eventually visits us all.

I LOVE Moonbox's novels. They have never let me down for their storytelling or updates. I guess Moon must have quite the team to put it out every two weeks, because they haven't missed a beat since I started Grandma's House.
I do wish more Devs had that type of creativity, but I guess you can't have everything. I guess it is what it is.
