RPGM Completed Werewolf Gungirl: Fallen Wife Tamed [Final] [MoonGlow]

You know... I love NTR H-RPGs. They're generally a fun blend of some of my favorite fetishes, but... I am so tired of the "I've got a picture, you do what I say now" trope. It's just such lazy writing.


Like in this game. The Bad Guy gives the Wolfgirl Wife the Cosby treatment, and takes a picture (don't bother asking how he has a camera in a fantasy world, it's magic) of her mid-rape. He then manages to leverage evidence of a crime that he committed into blackmail material, and said Wolfgirl Wife decides that she's entirely helpless in the face of said photograph. Like... seriously? Not only is it a tired trope more commonly used to evade the need for good writing, it's also a damning indictment of both the Wolfgirl's intelligence and her faith in her husband.


"Hey honey, remember that merchant dude? Well, he roofied and raped me, and took pictures. Let's get the police/guards/rangers/whatever." That's the abridged version of how the conversation should go. The fact that she apparently just decided that giving in would be the best way to go about things, and the fact that she thought her husband would decide that a picture of her being assaulted would destroy their relationship, both indicate either deep problems on the character's part, or a profound lack of creativity on the writer's.


I enjoy NTR, but dammit, why is it always the same tired tropes? I appreciate that someone took the time to reduce the typically grating MTL, but I wish the original Dev had actually tried to come up with a creative reason about why the Wolfgirl Wife would be cucked away.

We see this from the perspective of the merchant, that is, the one who cucks. There's very little emphasis on the husband other than 'he's there so this girl is married y'all'.

I say we need a Netori tag.

Also agree with hewhocumsbynight (that username is a mouthful, by the way) on the 'tired blackmail trope', but at least we know we can turn our brains off for this...and it's not a good thing for NTR (at least, for me personally).

I only like NTR when it's focused on the mental aspects, and unless there's a successful revenge, focused on the girl. What is happening in her head? What decision-making process is she using that she'd give in? What is changing over the course of the game? I absolutely abhor the NTR that only wants to kick us and the victim in the teeth, it's basically a cheap gut-punch on the level of 'badly written dead mom/mentor', it's there to make the character (and us) feel bad--and if it ends after that, it's a setup that literally goes nowhere. That's why I hate that type of NTR unless there's a good, successful revenge following it.

At least in this game I got some fun out of figuring out what was wrong. The girl was obviously not satisfied, but doesn't really know what else there is for her to do, and this Ruzan guy gave her a very satisfying out. There was probably some curiousity at play when she first agrees to give in, as in 'where's this going to go' sort of thing.

First of all, this. Netori is so drastically different we need some kind of verification instead of "cheating"

Second, if the husband is not even in the bloody game and only appears in mentioning... then why the hell make it NTR? Just make it a corruption life cycle akin to many other better RPGM games. I believe NTR in situation such as this only restricts the overall potential of the game. Games like this one tend to be a boring slop to go through and the best way to play them is to download all the CGs later.

I really wish there were more ntr games like that. But sadly that requires actual writing to make the journey and emotions of the two people in the relationship believable. Hell I can not even think about more then 1 or 2 games I played that have that.

Okay, I have two recommendations for NTR games with fairly good writing. Opinions may vary, of course, but I enjoyed both of these.

Basically, the law of the village is that if a woman isn't pregnant within a certain time frame after the marriage, the couple are forced to divorce and someone else marries the woman. The village chief decides to give the hero and his wife the "favor" of letting other men knock up the woman instead so their marriage can continue. The man is fully aware of what is going on, but at first truly hates it. The wife is deeply uncomfortable with the situation at first but wants to remain married to the husband. Notably, the relationship between the two is (in my opinion) fairly well written, at least by the standards of porn games. Also notable, some of the bulls the woman gets lent out to actually feel bad for the husband and do their best to make the whole thing as easy on him as possible.

is a partially translated H-RPG that spends a significant amount of time building up the relationship between the hero and the girl, and making you the player fall in love with the girl. It's got a long build up, but that makes the eventual degradation feel all the more personal. The game admittedly runs on tracks for the most part, but the art and writing are both good and the characters feel as real as porn game characters can. I will admit that I was working on translating the game before I got too busy and left it on hiatus, so I'm biased, and I will admit that opinions are mixed.
