"software project" :geek::geek: bro it's a renpy game, if the dev is so inept at coding he has to spend months debugging that, he should absolutely hire somebody who knows what they're doing
Not denying that the delays seem suspicious, and their skills need improvement, but just putting people onto a project/hobby/whatever doesn't necessarily make it faster. Thanks for missing the main point.

I'm totally with you, but consider this. If you could make potentially 2 thousand dollars a day busting your ass or 1 thousand a day doing nothing, which would you choose? For a lot of people, the latter is good enough.
they could be making f*ck you money if they did updates like before every few months or so. If they had other people helping it wouldn't even make a difference. But they seem determined not to. With the art this could be the biggest game in the genre but they don't want it

No they couldn't. In 2024 there's a limit to how successful a project like "What A Legend!" can be. Even the most successful games on the site would not be able to replicate their original success if their successful projects were started from scratch today. It has long since been proven that regular updates don't encourage more subscriptions.
