Hi, everybody.
Before the report, I want to ask everyone to chime in and let us know what you think about the way we release our content. For the last few updates (0.4, 0.5, and the currently in-development 0.6), we've tried to prepare a large amount of content for each release, aiming to either finish a character's story (Myrtle & Rose) or reach important story-points (the Main Story). Content-wise, we're happy with this approach and think the feeling of a satisfactory end is worth the wait. Still, it is undeniable that doing it this way takes a long time.
Some of you would recall that for 0.3 we focused on Holly's first quest only and managed to finish it in half the time we've taken for 0.6 so far. That update had a number of design issues since it was our first side-quest release, and we had a lot to learn, but all the same, Holly's quest-focused (as opposed to Myrtle's story-focused) release could be a model that we may try our hand at again.
What a Legend would be impossible without your support, and so we would love to hear your thoughts about this topic. Do you prefer larger content releases that take several months to prepare, or would you rather have smaller but more frequent content updates?

Anyhow, now the report:
Chestnut:
Last week, Chestnut dedicated all of her work-hours to the sex scenes. She designed them (they require many layers that need to be done in specific ways to allow mesh animation and are some of the most complex artworks she does), drew the base, and the final versions. She also worked a bit more on editing the frames of the already completed animations. A question was asked last time about why we haven't counted edit tasks for her despite her reported editing of the frames, and in case others are curious about the same topic, for most of her tasks (particularly those planned ahead), she counts edits and variations together with her tasks (which is why they are fewer of them done each day).

Pistachio:
I planned to finish two more sex scenes by this report, and I'm about 75% done with that. I did one sex scene and have started a second one, planning to finish it by the end of the weekend. Once done, we will have four of the six sex scenes planned for 0.6. While waiting for the art, I worked on improving the earlier content, edited and debugged some issues, wrote a new dialogue to improve a scene, and coded in a cutscene that was already done, but I hadn't had the time to add it to the game.

Next week's plan:
By the time I'm done with the sex scene I'm currently working on, Chestnut should have prepared the next sex scene. I will try to animate that as well and add it to the game.
Chestnut will continue her work on the sex scenes. I wish we could promise a video or a spoiler image, but I think getting the sexy stuff done as soon as possible is the most important thing right now, and those are not something we can share before the release.

That's all, folks, and please remember to use the comment section to share your thoughts about our approach to releasing content.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Cheers

26.02.2022 - 69,6% of total content.
5.03.2022 - 73,8% of total content.
12.03.2022 - 76,6% of total content.
19.03.2022 - 79,3% of total content.
The average progress is about 3.2% per week. So maybe we will see the new version as early as May.

From what I've seen in other threads small updates get a lot of complaints about not enough content and larger ones get a lot of complaints about taking so long the devs must be milking the patrons. No matter what you do somebody will complain about it so do what you're most comfortable with.

Patrons will prefer larger and time-consuming updates. That's granted.

And i don't wanna sound a asshole. But i remember dev saying in this thread during the last update development that they didn't want take 6 months or more for every release because this won't be good for their mental health. So, take a determined type of dev-cycle just because is what patrons wants don't sound a good idea to me.

Hi, everybody.
Stick to whats working for you. So far the content has been nothing short of amazing and if it takes time it takes time. I get how people can get impatient but they truly don't seem to realise what goes into this. I suppose I would say listen to your paying backers as if those guys start leaving then I suppose it all goes to shit anyways. Best of luck.

Agreed. Good things happen because people have a vision, it's not for nothing that people say a camel is a horse designed by a committee (which, to be fair is a horrible thing to say to the wonderful camel).

Bro, keep huffing that copium. WaL has like 6 girls with 2 scenes each, SS has like 30+ girls with a shit ton having more than 5 scenes AND it has a repeatable pregnancy mechanic. It's like saying Veggietales is gonna be the next Harry Potter lol
They were saying that in the context of development speed I believe. Of course summertime has more scenes, it has been in development for a lot longer than this game.

Ultimately both games are pretty much comparable, simply because they are both drawn by one person and the amount content we get roughly equals to what one person is able to drawn in a given period of time.

WaL! has the great advantage that it was properly planned right from the start, whereas SS started as a coding exercise for its dev and wasn't really supposed to become anything.
