Honestly thought this game was abandoned... I mean, it is, just... not officially by site rules. Halfway through 2022 was the last update? I hate the people who come into threads and go 'lol, dead game', but... I feel like regardless of the charts and supporters and what-not, NO update should take this long. This makes Team Borscht look like the hardcore monthly update crowd.

Any new update? I love this game, but lets be real a lot of us are running out of patience.

I used to back them but with no release for almost a year I was becoming a lil sus. The dev makes 7K Euro per month, the least they should release one update instead of going without any for a year.

Better not abandon it because its so promising.

But with this speed, we might be Q3/4 of 2024. It better be a huge update...
"With this speed" it went from being 91.5%, on 28th Dec, to being 92.2%, on 31st Dec.
That means it took 3 days for a 0.7% total increase.
There is 7.8% remaining. If it continues "with this speed", it would take circa 34 days.
Give it a couple of months, it should be close.

They stated a few times that this is the largest update they've done, yet. Given that the previous ones have all been a decent size, I see no cause for alarm.

I believe, if this update has taught us anything it's that magicnuts needs to plan how they release their future updates better.
After they've completed their initial planning and made an estimate on the amount of work required they should then make a call on if they should break their story into, 1 or more parts. While it's great getting a completed story arc. Waiting over a year is just bad project management in my opinion.
While I'm sure the Gomira update will be just as good as their earlier work. I think it would have been better managed if they had split the update in half and released a part 1 sometime around April to June. That way we'd be only waiting on the second half now rather then the full update.

Patrons chose to have updates done this way. Their opinion is obviously far more relevant and important, to the business, than that of pirates.
What you consider "bad project management", facts paint as being major events in their lives taking away large portions of the predicted available time - a new child & 2 operations will do that.

Hi whichone, I taught you put me on your ignore list. Anyway I still think breaking an extra large update into 2 large updates is a better system then just continuing on, over a year with just a single update.

Development is not linear and they've been working on the 2 quests of this update at the same time. They also explained that while they were testing the completed work they found a couple of sections from the first quest that didn't fit the events and tone of the second. So had they broken this update into 2 minor updates, they would've needed to rework an already published work, which is never a nice solution - or just published a lower quality product they weren't happy with.

I still think the world would be a better place if there was only sausage with cheese in it. But hey, what can you do? And also, who besides me even cares?

I'm not really sure I agree here. When patreons were asked, I don't think anyone expected updates this long - least of all MagicNuts themselves. I voted for longer updates, but given the choice again, I'd probably vote for a shorter one if this is the alternative.

That's not bashing the developers – you know I'm on the same side of the argument in this thread and I've argued time and again that their reasons for the delays are reasonable. I just think that vote was made under circumstances that aren't 100 % valid for the discussion any longer.

Longer updates + life changing events + risk of project gets abandoned for various reasons = you thought this will go smoothly?

If I had half of your optimism I would joyfully run through life, completely oblivious to everything but happy at the same time. :Kappa:

To be fair & correct, this is not "the alternative", it's an exception. There's a vast difference.

Hence referencing them having a new child & 2 separate operations. Those 3 events inevitably added considerable time to an update that was already projected to be the largest they've done yet, so would've naturally taken longer than previous updates.
Plus new child, plus 2 spells out of action.

Most rational people can understand why it's taken longer.

Yeh I wasn't talking about 91.5 % on 28dec, I posted 91.5% like 2-3 weeks back... So that's a much slower progress...
