It's just such an entitled thing to be upset about. They actually post weekly updates on their patreon, they've been hard at work this whole time, even during the huge life event of having a kid last year. I'm sorry the update to a free game that you enjoy is taking too long. It's just two people and the quality of content is incredible. They're progress tracker is updated daily, and it's now at almost 96%, so it really won't be long now.
It's a pretty bold move of a dev - whether they're solo or part of a team - to produce content updates every year or two (if the current trend persists). Patreon is a tool that functions the same as Early Access on Steam in that: you release your product early to generate revenue flow that helps release updates in the end goal of releasing a finished product. Whether it's fair or not is irrelevant when a majority of your playerbase abandons your game due to lack of content or any plans for releasing a finished product on time.

In all honestly I get frustrated too sometimes about these sorts of things, particularly with something like summertime saga - those guys pull in like 60k a month on patreon, I feel like the fans deserve a bit more. But I have to remind myself, it takes the time it takes. What can you do? DBAdventures has been waiting for an update for like 2 years as well, and that project is super under the radar considering it's quality. You just have to be patient.
This ties into the point mentioned above, but I'll try to articulate it a bit better here:

It's the responsibility of the developer to properly plan out how to fully release their game in a timely manner. It's the responsibility of the developer to respect their players' time/money. If major life events prevent work from being done on the game then be transparent about it and pause transactions until they're able to resume work.

Additionally, F95 is the best resource any dev has at signal boosting their game - unless they want to gamble on the Steam marketplace (which some have done successfully). Chances are 95% of Patreon supporters for any given campaign originated from this site.

What !? You interupt your 1 hour/week of working to post here...? That a shame... Patreon drop too hard too fast ?
only 18 month for a 2 hours update with 5/6 quests... so don t be ridiculous with your "i work hard" and go work for real now.

Again, the abandonned tag just work fine, it will be faster by now... But still not convinced to play this game again... maybe i give it a try when it will be finish, if i m not death of old age......
I can tell by this comment that you literally have no idea how long 2D hand drawn things take to make, especially of this quality. You think shit just pops out of thin air. My guy, there are usually around 20 to 50 animators working on a season of anime. Here you effectively have ONE artist doing everything. Your shit stained ass would probably give up in a week if you were doing what she was doing.

I can get being mad and disappointed it has taken so long for the next update but you literally have no idea what the fuck you are talking about.

OK, since you seem to know exactly what you’re talking about, what exactly is being drawn over the course of 2 entire years? There is no world in which a SINGLE update takes 2 years to draw scenes for, people have made entire games in less time, or at least several updates worth of scenes.

And we’re talking individual sex scenes, which should be taking up most of the time, most of the game is sprites that have already been drawn long ago, standing over a background that likely has been drawn long ago as well, with a textbox below, that is it. It allows full asset reuse once you create each of the components once, with maybe some facial expressions needed to be added in, that’s it.

So unless this update has a full visual novel’s worth of sex scenes and new backgrounds, which I highly doubt, it did not take 2 damn years to make.

Literally more content then most devs on this site make in two years, with higher quality. That's an objective fact if you look at any given random game here. This person isn't moving 3D models around in an animator, they are LITERALLY doing it by hand.

There actually is.

Give me devs on this site who are hand drawing things that have made an entire game longer than this. I'll wait.

These aren't sprites you absolute moron. Every frame is a new individual drawing. They might be able to speed up the process with modern 2D drawing programs but they aren't just moving sprites around. This is what I mean. You are just like the last guy, completely ignorant as to what is actually going on, but of course you have a strong opinion DESPITE that ignorance.

standing over a background that likely has been drawn long ago as well,
WRONG each scene calls for different frames and different angles. Go back and play this game over. All the character driven scenes are unique to that arc for the most part. And MOST of the game backgrounds are yet to even show up in the game. Probably less than 1/4th of the backgrounds have been drawn, if that.

with a textbox below, that is it.

Where did you learn this bullshit?

Nothing about what you said is situated in reality. It's coming from a horny child with no grasp of the work that goes on in the world around them.

All I’m reading here is cope and all I see is an objective lack of new content whatsoever in over 2 years of paid support from supposedly thousands of people. Take your little owns back to the discord server that I am sure you are a mod of, as they seem to have you and that other guy run damage control for free.

And yes, I’m sure every single frame of the update has been folded a thousand times, yada yada, zzz. Hope the patrons start dropping with the abandoned tag, since this might have been the only thing capable of producing results, even if there’s still no release date in sight as of yet.

What makes this game more "abandoned" than Summertime Saga? The use of that tag on here is puzzling.
StS is sitting at 17 months since their last partial update, this one is at 19 months. They will likely get it next month as well, unless they put out another partial update.

Its an update for ONE girl. A side girl even. Previously, that was an 8-10 month wait. And yes, I'm aware of the numerous personal issues facing them during that time(new ones every week pretty much), but it doesn't make the wait any less crazy. 2 years for side plot. That's pretty unprecedented, even amongst its also notoriously slow 2d contemporaries.

In any case for an "abandoned" game, there are a lot of people here.
I must say this is an interesting threads. I played this game once and have neither love nor hate for the devs but the flame war is great. More entertaining I would say. Just the right dose of fallacies and hyperboles without being about politic or religion.

Great thread, would suscribe again.

is this game Dead?
To some at least (others pretend it is) the others are "waiting" without suffering from it what should be easy if you make good use of your "waiting" to do something else to entertain you like complain about how much time you are waiting for an update for exemple.

The game is not dead or abandoned an update is in the works. But guys here need to calm down it's just a game, if it's taking too long get made play another one. If you are supporting them keep doing that and if you are just fed up just unsubscribe. But I do have to say one thing if the devs are having personal issues and it is hindering the progress of the project they should have atleast suspended their patreon.

The most generous creator I saw who suspends their patreon when they get personal issues which is hindering the progress of the game is NTRMAN, they are too generous in my opinion and the supporters love people like that. Behaving like this we also feel pity on the creator and will be more inclined to support them during their hard times.

Say what you want 1% in one week is definetely more faster than their recent progress speed, we will leave it at a welcome coincidence.
