I do like Maple as well (although I have both Gretta and Lady Madeline Goldenbush above her in my personal rankings), and I'm also sad and disappointed to see her storyline and potential future content get pretty much butchered thanks to yet another one of Patreon's crackdowns on what they deem to be "problematic" subjects.
You said it, it really fucking sucks.
Patreon has nothing to do on Maple's situation. The only change in her current content is a line where the MC explicitly says he was feeling perfectly OK and fully conscious after eating her magical mushroom, as the previous version stated he wasn't really aware of how he ended up naked (even though it wasn't the intention, it could be seen as if he was under the effects of some kind of drug and therefore not exactly consenting). And the changes in her future content are just a change on how the devs see this character and her potential involvement in the Main Story quest, as explained
here. So she's actually being promoted, in a sense, going from just a 100% side girl (her current quest is perfectly optional) to be a 'forced LI' on the main story.
