how can you take so long to code this game? like cool you told that Chestnut works more, but your programmer still sucks? This whole game, Codewise, is made in 3-4 Months, with AI help like Gemini, Copilot and even ChatGPT or DeepSeek you can break it down to 2 to 4 weeks. and ya´ll ask yourself why you never will hit a Job in the real Game-Dev World.
I assume your comment is directed at Pistachio, they guy that does the coding. Assuming that it is, I'm afraid he doesn't come around here much, so he probably won't read your reply.

Regarding the "it can be done in 2 to 4 weeks" part of your comment, I'd like to suggest this exercise: take the assets from the game (it's Ren'Py, so they're readily available), and create a new game from them, as a practice exercise. I expect you'll have it ready by the 20th, and I hope you share it here as a fan homage. I'd love to see it. ;)

I work in this field, i dont need practice exercise. Fact is, coding this isnt hard, especially in engines like Renpy. Ever worked on a Game Engines sourcecode that has 10 million lines of code? Thats a different thing.

Then I think the problem is one of nomenclature. You see, when I first saw the stats, I also thought that the "code" metrics meant actually programming. It does not. They are not programming anything, as far as I know, in the sense that you and I might understand it. When they talk about "coding", they mean the scripts that place the characters in the scene, pose them, move them around, change their facial expressions, etc. I'm assuming you know Ren'Py, so you already know there's no actual programming in that. But it can still take a lot of time. They are not touching the game engine, as far as I know, nor writing a single line of actual code. Once you adjust your perception of their metrics according to that, it all makes much more sense.

Now, regarding the tone of my reply to you. It was sarcastic, and a little mean. But I also think your actual comment saying it can be done in 4 weeks with AI was hyperbolic, so I feel it was warranted. You may feel they take longer than a professional would, I also feel that way. But you must admit that "This whole game, Codewise, is made in 3-4 Months, with AI help" is simply not true. Unless by "codewise" you mean actually programming. Then, it can be done in less than 5 minutes, as they are not actually programming anything.

So I think it was either a matter of misinterpretation or trolling.

Just for our understanding of what you think coding is... or how long coding... Programming... needs - lets say i want to make a mini game for a videogame. Like say, a riddle game with different answers, failure screen, success, persons talking to each other and all that. Just the Programming part, what do you actually think it takes, timewise, to do that?

There's a faq section in the OP that tries to explain what coding means for these devs.

Just saw. Its funny to see how many people want to make a game without any programming and still want to make an absolute banger Game.
To these people i just can say: You wont make anything great at all. In Game-Dev you have to understand what your features do and why they do it. And thats not just the programmer that has to know that, the designer, the sound designer, the vfx artist. The Animator. they all have to understand how simple programming works to understand why and how the Feature in the game actually works.
Nowadays every twerp calls himself game-dev not knowing shit.

I think they are doing a pretty good job with this game despite being twerps, all things considered. But I guess I'm just another twerp, and I'm sure your game would be the goat, if you wanted to bless us with all your sapience.

So it took me almost 2 months to manage to complete this update; it was a slog. I found it entirely uninspired, and for what is now effectively a kinetic novel, very boringly written.

The entire plot and scenes regarding the dragon felt like they were all smashed out in a weekend, with rubbish dialogue and rushed scenes. The stuff regarding boner island was ok, just ok.

I enjoyed Rose's update. I didn't enjoy this one.

I felt tthe exact opposite. I thought Roses update was really boring until Roses powers stopped working. I like this on a lot and it felt more like an epic fantasy kind of adventure than the other updates did

I liked neither of them. I think the monster girl aspect really lessens the eroticism.

I played this game maybe 2 years ago. Did they add the sex scenes with the black woman yet? I think she was maybe the mayor or something like that. I just remember looking forward to her scenes.
