Think i'll wait for the Holly patch and not play the green Orc lady one. Cant take that long, right?
...Cant take that long, right?
While I'm not as critical as this and I did overall enjoy the update, I have to agree that the lack of any sense of player agency (nothing to choose between, nothing to figure out, basically just an extremely long cutscene) did really drag this update down. I think the Nuts got a bit too carried away with telling a story and forgot to make a *game*.So it took me almost 2 months to manage to complete this update; it was a slog. I found it entirely uninspired, and for what is now effectively a kinetic novel, very boringly written.
The entire plot and scenes regarding the dragon felt like they were all smashed out in a weekend, with rubbish dialogue and rushed scenes. The stuff regarding boner island was ok, just ok.
I enjoyed Rose's update. I didn't enjoy this one.
Holly's update will be similar to the older updates' structure, with shorter cutscenes and more freeroam. While I'm not as critical as this and I did overall enjoy the update, I have to agree that the lack of any sense of player agency (nothing to choose between, nothing to figure out, basically just an extremely long cutscene) did really drag this update down. This is not to say I didn't enjoy the story - I really love Gomira and I love how the Nuts never repeat themselves. Myrtle, Lana, Rose, and Gomira each have a very different "angle" to their romance and a different reason why they ultimately fall for the main character. If anything I wish Gomira had been a bit more of a slow burn and hadn't been willing to fuck the main character in the first act of her story - she should have made him try harder to "prove himself". If I had one more quibble it would be that most of the skeleton characters were a bit boring and I feel like they took too much of the focus, would rather have had more development of the dragon lady. She was introduced very late in the story and felt comparatively rushed.
Ultimately I did enjoy the update as a story, but it would have worked just as well as an animated video clip rather than a game. I am hoping that with Holly and Lady Mad, we will have more things to craft, hidden objects to find in the world, clues to puzzle over, and some (light) questing!
The main story has not advanced but a couple of side stories have been completed since then: the fortune-teller who lives in a wagon in the woods, and the orc girl from the gloryhole scene in the prison. Both have several scenes.I need help.
I had that game about 3 or 4 years ago and it ended when the prison director in the castle was arrested after the fire happened.
Which version was that?
Are there other scenes after that so that I don't have to download the game and play it completely again?
Times are changing too. WaL's robotic, lifeless animation style is aging badly. So it took me almost 2 months to manage to complete this update; it was a slog. I found it entirely uninspired, and for what is now effectively a kinetic novel, very boringly written.

The next 2 updates are already decided (Patreon choices), 0.8 will be about Holly and the next one about the Main Story (the later may need multiple updates to be finished). Can't wait for the next update and hoping it will be about dragon-lady!
