I would rather they finish the story so if/when this gets abandoned at least the main quest will be done.

So, one of this "new characters" will be Simmonne's mother, I suppose... It's pity, that she will not have her own arc, but maybe we'll meet her again in some future update, which will be dedicated to Simmonne.
Hm... One arc, uniting decent housewife and brothel prostitute is an unexpected and doubtful move, for sure. The only thing, that unites this two characters for me now, is Waldo and his visits to the brothel. So, I afraid, that the real "main hero" of this arc will be Waldo.
Maybe, he will come to brothel, hoping to fuck Anne, Gretta will see this, and will want a divorce, or something like that. How it could be????!!!Patreon rules forbid that type of content.

Yeah, idk. One thing with Summertime Saga that makes it kinda passable is that they concluded their main story. So, I think it's best to focus on the main story on this one. I mean, if the story progresses, we're getting closer and closer to Serena and sweet Simmone.

How are patreon supposed to vote for an update with three new characters? We never saw even concept arts! Also no twin threesome = lame.
Looks like, after wasting more than 2 years on a single orc, they decided to hurry up thing and mush everything together. So sad. This game had a lot of potential. Couldn't we just vote between Madeline, Maple, Anne and Gretta?

At least you have a point on this one but for the threesome part you have to address the issue to Patreon and their guidelines not the devs.

As far as I know, Maple's quests were planned basically as a way to introduce the furry fetish so I'm not sure if this means we're now getting furry content in Main Story. Or maybe that's the part that will be switched for something more interesting? We'll see.

Not only are they a monopolistic anti-consumer payment platform with high fees, but they're also an authoritarian payment platform that likes to dictate what people can and can't do with their money (i.e. what type of content you're allowed to consume and support).
Patreon is just a marionette.
But PayPal, well, they are the puppet master pulling the strings.
You could vote for Maple for 0.7 and 0.8, or am i wrong? It was Simmone who couldn't be voted, because she is probably gonna appear in the main story.
Same as Gretta and Anne: you could vote for them separately to receive their own update. Now you can't.
Doesn't look remotely like Ai to me.
If I had to guess the devs are kind of trying to rush some of the other stories lines along because version 7 took longer to develop than they planned, so they're rolling some of what they had planned together instead of just focusing on one LI like before.

I understand what you mean I would certain like to have each character have their own story but any developer needs to be aware od Scope Creep and after what happened with v.0.7 I would not be surprised if they wanted to rush it and get done with the game for good.
I'm sure the constant changes on Patreon guidelines may had their impact on their initial plans to and now that they are forced to take a different route they will just take advantage of it to short their path to reach the goal: the Final 1.0 version.
It's obvious that they had too much stuff planned and now they are just getting rid of stuff they don't consider worth for the sake of finishing the game.
But that just a possibility, I don't know their plan and if it's different than what they had before, even v.0.7 final result is different than what 8s was when they start, it's better now than it was before they changed it? Will this new path be better than the one they planned before? Who knows. Let's just hope for the best I guess.
