Don't assume lib is the same as library. The folder is called
Library, nothing else..
There are three of them: one in the root of Macintosh HD: /Library
Another one in System: /System/Library
The third one is
hidden (one of Apple's more
clever ideas

) in your Home folder: ~/Library
This is the one we're talking about.
(The
~symbol (tilde) in a filepath indicates your
home folder)
If you have path, don't use Command F but
shift-command-G while in Finder and type or paste the path there.
You can also make this Library folder permanently visible. This option shows up in the View Options (Command J) for your home folder.

Finally, if you want to search for things on your HD, I recommend Easyfind (freeware from Needful Things - Devontechnologies)
This allows you to search for files and folders using wildcards and Boolean operators, searching also in hidden folders and inside packages. Spotlight is worthless for this. I never use it.
