If I remember right the one after this will be main story.
That's gonna be years from now, the way things stand the next update won't be until 2026 at the earliest. I fully expect this to follow the same pattern all patreon games do, smaller and smaller updates that take longer and longer until the dev just goes dark unless the income stream seriously declines.

Speaking of which, it's been a minute since I last saw any progress reports on this thread. Have you guys stopped keeping track?

Oh, no, I still keep track. I just thought people wouldn't be interested when progress is still so far from completion, so I haven't been posting them, as I didn't want to be a spammer. Thanks for showing interest!

I'll post one later on when I get back home (out for the weekend), and then I can go back to posting them but with bigger intervals. How about one a month at the beginning of each month? Kinda feels like a nice middle point and, when the update get closer, I can increase the periodicity of the reports to biweekly or weekly.

Remember that the tasks per day on each row are an average of the last few rows, and not the tasks per day of that row. That's why, for example, when there's a sudden burst of activity like on April 18th, the average remains high for a few rows. And then suddenly drops later on, once the day with a lot of tasks done drops out of the range for the average.

Also, I've excluded the columns for the total planning, as that's done and thus had no change over time.

Finally, the last block of columns, the ones in green, are just the sum of tasks of the other metrics, not something that's on the devs' reports.

I wonder if they will be able to finish up this update within a single year, much like the Rose update. Currently i am not convinced, but if they deliberately overestimated the amount of tasks, as was the case with the writing, then it could still be possible.
Then again, the polish section expanding further from essentially day-1 is not a reasuring sign, considering the polish hell we saw in 2024. 10 tasks completed? 8 more tasks added.

Hopefully the content section will remain stable around 3 daily tasks.

Honestly, the polish section is advancing more than I expected at this point. I was kinda positive that it would only start advancing once the content part was mostly finished. And even though there are occasional points added, overall it's advancing. So for now I'm actually optimistic about it. Though I feel that the moment the content is mostly done will be the critical one, as that's really when new polishing tasks can start appearing in numbers.

Finuee Have you considered adding an estimation of release date, based on number of remaining tasks and the week or month average of tasks per day ? Based on the table, it looks now like a roughly third (676/1789) of the job is done (yes the number of tasks will probably increase) after 6 months. Which would indicate a release not sooner than summer 2026, with more realistic estimate of Christmas 2026 or even later.

Please no. This will only lead to inattentive readers (which I believe to be the majority here) complaining. 'But the progress report said it should be out by now', and so on. 'But the dev promised...', 'They are milking!', ...

I do have that projection in the excel sheet I use to track this, to give me an idea. But I purposefully do not share it, as it's misleading. Specially for inattentive readers, as pointed out by elbo. I'd rather share facts (the numbers) than opinions (the projection), and let people reach their own conclusions.

Besides, I'm pretty sure not all parts of development will progress at the same rate, so the projection would be faulty at best.

Finally, since I have a dev badge, some people in the past have mistakenly thought I was the dev of a game in whose thread I was posting. Providing an estimation of release date might make that even more likely, and cause trouble for the actual devs of this game, as some people might demand they fulfill a deadline they never actually said. Basically the scenario elbo rightfully fears might happen.
