This is not a "get approved and then you can do what you want"-system. The rules have to be followed the entire time. Sure you can try to fly under their radar, but if they find out (eg somone reports you) you'll get problems.

Patreon should just stick to fighting prudes who sit in banks and being annoying by dictating where the money should or shouldn't come from. But they don't do that, they instead opt to lick their prudish asses by forcing ridiculous rules onto the creators.

Patreon is dead for porn, then. There are some artists that can still survive there, but the vast majority of porn depends on the "this is so wrong" feeling to work, and Patreon apparently is against that just in general, so it's really no wonder there's a mass exodus to other sites.

Even the comparatively fewer creators who can survive on Patreon are better off migrating as well, since most creators being elsewhere equals most customer attention being elsewhere too.

There's been no mass exodus, where are you getting that from? Patreon is far and away still the best "subscription" based platform for these games. The only other one people actually use is substar, which any dev will tell you is far less popular.

Patreon is sanctimonious crap. It's an axiom that requires no proof. (imo) Yes, it's more popular than subscribestar (more convenient in various aspects, including financial), but that's the only reason it's still alive, at least as far as porn games are concerned. If it weren't for those notoriously convenient financial aspects, subscribe would have ripped patreon to shreds.
