What are your thoughts on games with female protagonist?

As a woman who almost exclusively enjoys fem. protag games, I'm probably just an outlier here. But what the heck, why not.

To be clear, I'm not really into ladies. I can appreciate a beautiful woman for what she is, but I'm not attracted to her. So that's not an argument I want to make or have to defend.

Why I prefer female MCs comes mostly down to the actual setting of the game/story. From my experience, male protag games are usually prominently dominant. Which means that fucking as many girls as possible is a goal, if not the goal.
On the other hand, for female MCs the sexual act is usually something she reluctantly agrees upon. She doesn't want it at first, but the narrative puts her into a position in which she has to adapt to these kind of requests and somehow must come to terms with it.

And that's the real kicker for me personally. Using sex as a way to progress your character, if pulled off correctly, is amazing to me. And that usually works better with female leads, in my opinion.

It depend from each person I guess. Guy above said he can't roleplay as a female.

For me it's mostly a mindset "change of setting" if I can call it like that.
When I play a male mc game, I immerse with the male protagonist in a kind of wish fulfillment way.

When I play female protagonist game on the other hand, I'm more in a external mindset, I am some kind of omniscient watcher who control the action of that girl. switching from "being" the character to "controlling" the character.

A bit complicated to explain, my brain do it on its own and manage to dissociate itself when it come to female mc.
That's why I also don't mind *cough* enjoy *cough* when "terrible things" happen to a female mc in corruption themed games for example. Because for me, these things are happening to her, not to me.

This. I'm pretty much like that too. Zero problems playing female characters for the same reasons. It's simply like a more interactive manga/anime to me. I'll add that in my fantasies, I tend to prefer male characters to be dominant and female characters submissive, at least vis-à-vis the opposite gender; I don't play games where femdom is a major element unless it's avoidable or it's lesbian femdom. I even like games where the male protagonist is transformed into a female (preferably via magic/sci-fi means that makes them genetically female; I don't like sissy games either unless full female conversion is possible and am not attracted to real-life male-to-female transsexuals).

Ah, that explains a lot. I thought I was talking with a guy, normally even if a guy doesn't like penises, we still at see one every day, since it isn't special, it doesn't really draw the eye and so it is easy to ignore in sex scenes. Though there are guys in which even that isn't enough, they aren't all that comfortable in their sexuality and even seeing another man's penis is enough to make them question whether they are straight. IMO this would be actual homophobia, a fear that you're homosexual.

However, it's different for a lesbian. Not only do you not like penises, but you have no reason to even interact with one, so you can't really put it out of your mind that easily, and since I imagine you have the same thought process about vaginas as guys do penises, it's probably hard to simply ignore a penis and focus on the woman.
