Those numbers are misleading as they only show a total over several years of game development, I think ever since Corona games especially with the more extreme fetishes like NTR picked up, probably as many people used the internet and electronics to compensate their desires they used to get else where which was now blocked to them.
When I first came to this Forum there was a consistent Fetish in games which was incest... it's probably still the most used fetish as new developers took this fact as indicator for a formula of guaranteed success, something similiar is likely happening with more specialised and contradicting fetishes about now... yet it's also true that ever since Corona especially old games with the NTR fetish got added to the site, so a fan base found their way here and shared games of the past, same as people previously did with games with the incest fetish.

Here's a thought I'll toss to people, just throw it around your heads a little, what if the person that doesn't immerse and realises it's an external story to oneself is in fact, in reverse of your statement, the one that is not degenerated? What if the person that immerses is so weak and lacking in self esteem that they must find solace and identification with the attributes and qualities of a fictional person? What if their rational and intellectual faculties are so lacking that they cannot distinguish between themselves and the person they play as? And in so degenerate a mind, they cannot even muster the small modicum of self control but MUST, i.e. they will not, and indeed CANNOT, leave such alone but must 'attack' or 'comment' or fail to understand any concept that there are people that can split the two apart and can enjoy a story or other NTR media simply for the events that happen to the characters without identifying as any?
Do we have any evidence for the theory? Why the very numerous threads that practically scream 'REEEEEEEEE!!!!' or the various people that run off from it in fictional media, as if the very thing doesn't happen in reality either (cognitive dissonance is a rather amusing thing is it not?), now you might feel I'm attacking or getting personal but actually i'm answering your comment generally and not specifically applying it to you, more so anyone reading, especially those reading who instantly feel their hackles rise, stop there, ask yourself why, why that is if you are the reader that right now feel impugned and now have an overwhelming urge to reply, where does that feeling come from? It seems to me much like those who have to beat up nerds, geeks, intellectuals at school, not because they don't understand what they are doing is hurtful and wrong, but because it makes them feel like they are still in control, need control, against those who possess a quality that not only do they not understand, but frightens their worldview to such an extent they are capable of little else but to lash out. It's a tale as old as time that those that understand not a thing, can feel an uncontrollable need to attack and vindicate themselves against a perceived enemy in their mind when encountering it, yet it's not just the lack of understanding, but I feel personally it's that of a lack of emotional and mental development, for I presuppose there are people that, like myself, will never understand Scat, or Urine, or Farts, yet...I feel no compulsion to say anything but to leave them be, I have found others that do not like NTR, but they seem to possess a quality or attribute others don't because they are also content to leave such alone.
It would seem to me then upon the analysis of what I've encountered here over the years, that even in those that do not like NTR, one will happily leave it alone and get on with their vision and pursuit, the other seems to suffer shackles upon their hands and minds, seemingly not just unwilling to rationalise and develop emotional fortitude, but in contradistinction, are not just unwilling but unable to.
I've found such even outside of the site too, those who can rationally debate, not take personally, and distinguish themselves by externalizing from their internal the various stimuli they encounter, and those of whom simply act like emotional babies or as savage animal and scream, shout, throw tantrums, insults, resort very quickly to violence. In short, I don't think the issue is with the object but the subject, i.e the issue isn't with NTR or anything else, but the type of person that encounters it.
This is just a supposition, don't take my words as golden, investigate and see if they resonate with you (the wider audience reading this).
