When he talks about the nightly throughput , it's unclear if he means both games or just SG.No, I'm saying that my math says he's going to get almost 100 renders per night (at least that's what he estimates) so that 50 renders max per night must have been a count he did months ago and is out of date (or overestimates the likely production).
Jesus, what is this Leia render ?! just why ? I can't even... Maybe I should join the Katie club, Ocean is doing Leia dirty.WiAB Chapter 4 - Dev Log #20
Hello,
I confused something, and said in the last Dev Log that the next log would be released on Christmas Eve.
And I still thought the next log had to be released on the 24th. Yesterday, however, I felt an itch to write a log and checked the date of my latest log… And yeah… I have no idea why I said Christmas Eve.
Anyway, let’s get into it.
Workstation news. Currently I’m still bottlenecked by my PC, it’s unable to render all the images created during the day.
I got the wonderful 2022 tax invoice, cried myself to sleep, and then paid it.
This means I can now finally plan for the Workstation. As it looks right now, I will order it in January.
Currently, my PC can render ~20 to 50 images a night, depending on the number of characters in the scene.
When the new Workstation arrives, the amount effectively triples. Then, the PC I’m currently using can continue rendering during the day while I set up new scenes on the Workstation.
One PC can theoretically render 24/7.
I might need to install a NAS system if I add a third PC for animations when the 50xx cards come out.
I’m still working on the treats. Robin from SG will be the next one to release.
WiAB - Season 1 - Chapter 4
Yesterday, while I checked up on what's left to do, I was a little surprised to see that we're actually closing in.
By my estimations, we're looking at around 29 days of still image rendering and the stills for Chapter 4 are done.
That's around 1300 renders left.
The number is calculated by what my PC can render a night. It doesn't matter if I can do more if he needs X time to render it.
After the still renders, I will start with the animations and render them during postwork and testing.

I mentioned on Discord that I'd be showing renders I wouldn't usually preview.

Back to work.
I'm actually getting excited now.
I'll see you in two weeks. (Maybe less because of the Robin treat).

I mean, he kinda always overestimate what he can deliver and how fast he can do it. I do not understand rendering but he seems to be doing crazy numbers. No, I'm saying that my math says he's going to get almost 100 renders per night (at least that's what he estimates) so that 50 renders max per night must have been a count he did months ago and is out of date (or overestimates the likely production).
The aurelas are fine, but what is this hair ? It looks like a child who just found her mother's hair tie. and the outfit ? Plus it seems that now everybody has plane strides.I don't know but Leia's areola is kinda distracting.
That is why I once asked about his workflow. We have no way of knowing how much each game progress, but I would assume that he will focus on finishing WiaB now, it is the closer to be finished and the one who is late. Plus SteamWhen he talks about the nightly throughput , it's unclear if he means both games or just SG.
I'm certainly not complaining, but Kat's wearing that outfit on the same night it appears that Katie is sitting astride Willi's lap. I look forward to finding all about these renders in great detail. Not needed right now (sorry Katie)...when we have Kat...

Oh come on, you're not new around here, but you are still taking any kind of estimates Ocean tosses out as anything but a joke?In other related topics:
I find the Oceanian arithmetic weird, he says he can get 50 renders per night max, he calculates 29 days of work in 1300 renders, but he also calculates around 1300 renders in the same period of time for SG
...
I didn't catch when the new PC will be available, but since it's new and to this point has not been a usable resource, perhaps it might make sense to use it 24/7 to quicken the renders for the remainder of the next episode, then begin using it as originally intended afterwards.WiAB Chapter 4 - Dev Log #20

Hopefully both WIAB and SG will be released before Oceans apartment lease is up next year.I'm assuming Ocean won't release a beta for 4, but will release 4 as early access on steam - so the stills will be finished roughly a year after Ch3 full was released, but we still have animations left - as I imagine Ocean won't leave the end of 4 without an animation, and I'm guessing there will be a bunch of animations required to accompany some of these saucy renders.
It kinda feels like this is picking up speed a little, which is encouraging.
Also, there's a lot of landing strips. William can find his way home now.
