Whoa, I just realized—the last update was over a year ago! Personally, I like to wait for a year’s worth of updates before replaying a game on this site, and only if there are three or more updates during that time.

What surprises me the most, though, is how overwhelmingly positive the comments are here. In other games, after months of waiting, people usually start worrying about the game being abandoned. (By the way, after a year without updates, doesn’t the game normally get the "On Hold" tag?)

Is there a particular reason behind the strong support you all have for this game?

Yeah...I got nothing! Honestly this game is just homework for me because I play the dev's other game.

I guess it's got a couple of planet sized women in it...if you're into people who could have their own gravitational field. Also possible NTR in the future. I don't know...

i think it's weird how overly positive the comments are. it gives off uncanny valley vibes to me. anyone that asks "update when" gets absolutely wrecked.

Schrödinger's update: until we have seen it, it exists and doesn't exist. So, why not believe that the fortnightly devlogs have substance behind them? The dev goes into more detail than required for passing the buck. Plus, he has indicated the update will be very soon™. This Wednesday we're likely to see how many inches closer we are.

Don't mistake positivity for blind faith. I'd say everyone here is aware of the tardiness. It's simply this: why waste time being unhappy about something you're here to pirate? Either it's here or it's not. Being happy when it's here makes sense, being unhappy when it's not doesn't - there are more days in any AVN's life when there is no update, so perpertual unhappiness over the lack of an update is boring.

We support the idea that the project is ongoing and we'll see an update, what does positivity cost us? If we're wrong what do we lose? There are much more important things in my life every day than being unhappy over an AVN's status.

Dare I say we made friends along the way? :coffee::whistle:

What do you mean, "overwhelmingly positive"? There are a lots of 2-3 stars reviews at the recent reviews page that criticize literally every part of the game. The average weighted rating is 4.2, which is very low for a game of WiAB's quality. So it's not all that clear-cut.

If you mean the comments in this thread, they are mostly from regulars who have long ago decided on their attitude to the game. They can be annoyed by Ocean's unpredictable turns or changes, be pissed by his slow work, but in general they love both the game and its characters. Those who do not like the game have long since splashed out their frustration and left the thread, they are bored here, and there are a lot other games for every taste in the Zone. The main problem is the slow updates, otherwise the game looks great, in my opinion most of the renders look like separate frames from a movie. The plot has many mysteries, vague hints that attract attention and cause long discussions and inventing theories about what will happen next. Interesting characters, a lot of emotionally charged scenes that make you sympathize with these characters. While there are some porn scenes in the game, porno and fetish exploration are not the main focus of the game's plot. So if you were attracted to this game by, for example, the NTR tag, I'm afraid there's little in the game's plot that has anything to do with it yet.

Basically, those who stayed here to regularly write negative posts are either trolls or people who have a personal grudge against Ocean, the rest are tired of it long ago and moved along. Although this is just my opinion, I haven't read what they write now, as I've added most of these users to my ignore list over the past couple of years.

Post-nut clarity. But we are nice people. Occasionally though.

(By the way, after a year without updates, doesn’t the game normally get the "On Hold" tag?)
The dev gives us bi-weekly updates on the progress. So the tags are kept at bay. He's also workin on 2 games at the same time so it's reasonable to take more time.

Quality. Not many games come close to the level of detail the renders have and the cinematic approach he has to his scenes is very attractive. The characters feel organic and interesting. The plot has a lot of mysteries to unfold so the thrill factor is high. Also we're in too deep at this point so might as well hang on for the whole ride.jk.

Fair, fair... But you also have Katie in SG. And will probably have Miru too which lowers the value of WiAB a bit

Ok Bob let's not get too excited, yeah?

The average weighted rating is 4.2, which is very low for a game of WiAB's quality.
Wait what? If the max score is 5 how is 4.2 low for ANY game? Let's not forget 2.5 is "average". Which makes 3 "above average" and 3.5 or 4 "good". I think anything between 4.0 and 4.5 is accurate for WiAB which makes it a "very good", borderline "great" game.

Am I off base on the 5 star ranking? o_O

4.2 isnt low in the least. But there's a ton of games that are above 4.2 which are way bad compared to this game. But then again, f95's rating system is absolute dogshit. Hell I'd have never found SG and Wiab if i just filtered by rating.

Certainly not for an "average" game, and I said it's not that great for a WiAB quality game. I mean, an average game rated 3 or lower usually makes me want to puke.

But it's complicated, I would say that it's not a uniform but a logarithmic distribution. That is, about 500 games with a rating higher than 4 are what I would call above average and 5000 games with a rating from 3 to 4.5 are what I would call average. Well, the rest of the 20000+, just tell me yourself what is it. :KEK:

So I'm talking about the "above average" category, where WiAB isn't even in the top 300 because there's not a single game rated 4.2 or lower. It's on page 15, my settings are 30 items per page, so it's somewhere around 450th in the weighted rankings. SG is right there with WiAB, by the way. Can you really name 300+ AVN better than SG? I can't. So yeah, WiAB and SG are far from "overwhelmingly positive" to me.
