Alright then, I'm all caught up.
Maybe its because I came from oldWiaB to the current newWiaB build, and never played the earlier ch1-3 builds of newWiaB...but I think its fine. Yeah, its got some weirdness in the script, but I think it works as a whole. I've basically got four points that make the script a little schizo.
1. Like I mentioned earlier, William's seeming ignorance towards his adopted family being involved with crime but also clearly being fully aware they're a mob family. Weird disconnect.
2. I really don't get what was so bad about Leia and William diddling each other, that William felt he had to run away because Katie threatened to make it public. Made sense when they were siblings, and incest bad. But they're from two different families, and two families who have been completely wiped out. And are hated. I imagine Ocean has some revelation in the works regarding that, but still... its really stupid right now.
3. Everyone treating William like he shat in Helen's mouth and raped her six times while beating her bloody with a spiked dildo is so fucking dumb. Yeah, he ran away. Big whoop. He was a kid, not a gangster, not a made man, not working for the family, or the heir to the Zanes. This is the one sticking point I really hate. Leia hating him, I understand. Her reaction to being abandoned was extreme, and that fosters a ton of negative emotion thats hard to shed. Fair enough. Katie, I get as well. The siblings bullied her, and she fucked with them. It was a love-hate relationship with a ton of hate. Maybe more will get revealed later, but as it stands, everyone else has no right to blame William for any of their hardships after he left. And the "but muh mafia rules" stuff is fucking retarded when he was just a kid.
4. Helen knew William was in prison, went to see him, and seemingly left him there without informing anyone. What the actual fuck, man. I get she was hurt he just ran away and it was only a month later, so the scar was still fresh and hurting. But christ. What a bitch. And the nerve to behave the way she's been doing after he came back now. Helen deserved the rock to the head.
1, I can give a pass with rework funkiness. Fine. William is just a retard. Par for the course with AVN MCs.
I can give 4 a bit of a pass, because going back to the person who brought you up even if they abused you and treated you like shit is not all that uncommon. Parental attachment is a hell of a drug and hard to kick, even when it goes against all common sense.
2 is more egregious because it really makes zero sense and its the literal lynchpin of why everyone treats William the way they do.
3 is the big stinker for me, because I feel like everyone's reaction to William leaving is way too harsh. They're all cunts.
Last two points:
First. That redhead agent at the end? COMPLETE FUCKING RETARD JESUS CHRIST HOLY SHIT LADY. You use your federal investigative powers into a chick, find out that you literally are unable to find any information on her other than a string of aliases and your reaction is "yeah, she's a nobody, not gonna be a problem". HOLY GOD IN HEAVEN. I hope you get a ninja blade in you calf just for being this stupid.
Second. Agent Rita is hot as fuck.
I'll totally make a second save to bang her if we get the option.
All in all... 7/10, would play again. Other than the four kinks mentioned above, I'm really digging the story. There's fat asses and tiddies everywhere. Miru solo path continues to be nice. I like William being a cheeky retard. Its fun.
P.S. Where the fuck is the actual "family" of the Zanes? Where are their thugs and mooks? Their hired hands and what not. Its just been Leia sending her crew to watch over them, and she is explicitly doing her own thing. Its like Ocean forgot mob families need underlings who do the actual dirty work and day-to-day mob work.
