It certainly won't take that long.

Update 1-4 had a total of around 3000 renders. That's not much. Update 0.5 had 2300 alone.

I will be able to do the complete rework with animations etc. in 3-5 months. (And I am not counting in the RIG update in June. If I get the new PC, it won't take longer than 2-4 months.)
2 years later...

My work was much slower in the past, true.

2020-2021: (11 months for Ch3 SG - 1800 renders + 10k animation frames + Bad mental health - Work/Life balance)
Now: (Ch4 SG - 6 months - 2100+ renders + 16k animation frames.)
Now: (Ch2 WiAB 4 months - 700 renders + 3000 animation frames.)

While improving quality and learning/experimenting with new Software on the side.
from 5300 renders per 2-4 month to 3700 renders per 4 month

Update 1 - 5 took 14 months (Counted in the two months I needed for 0.1)
Animation renders were counted in, too. (0.5 had 1700 stills + 600 animation).

From 5300 low-quality renders per 14 months (~ 4000 stills + 1300 A-Frames) to 21.800 high-quality renders per 4-6 months. (2800+ stills and 19000 A-Frames.)

I think you can do the math...


And said Rework I'm talking about up there is the one we have right now... Obviously, it took a lot longer than what I estimated/said in 2020... :rolleyes:

Chapter 6 was planned as an update and the first reworked Chapter... (Old plan)
This means, back in Feb 2020, it was still the plan to release Chapter 6... And then do 1-5 as Ch6 should flawlessly blend in.


Then Ch6 was released in May 2020... but sometime after July I changed my mind and wanted a complete rework. (The one we have now.)
First I tried it in Blender... which got scrapped and never released as Blender had too many technical problems... and now we have this one...

But the other dude thinks there was a rework between .3/.4...

And about reworking and improvement
You've posted the same screenshot as I did... Please read the thread before answering.

There would be no reason to hide some ominous rework... And WiAB will never be remade again. The art is now good and the story has been mapped out.

To those Dana lovers... I made a few more adjustments to her... I always let characters marinate a bit and then get back to them.
Dana is a damn beauty now... Be prepared for her.

I really enjoyed the game before the rework or whatever it is being referred to and I am liking where this game is heading, also the renders are looking so much better than they originally did (honestly some models are amazing,) but I don't suppose there could be an option added in the game where I never have to see the MCs face I find him oddly repulsive to look at.

Also having faceless MCs really helps with immersion.

I think this game has currently one of the most amazing graphics and scenes. And also a really professional and very engaging agmosphere. I just play the old version and its long and interesting there also.
I just really hope the devs stick to it and finish this version with that quality and dont put it to the cemetery of abandoned unfinished games.
Could become really one of the best VN's out there if the devs stuck to it.

yeah where it all began has huge potential to be the best VN on this site and I am a VN porn addict(y) how the models look and how the autor handels realism and other male cheracters compared to other big games is like day and night and a huge improvment you actually have the feeling that cheracters and the reaIationship and the jealousy feels real I have the feeling that the future of this game will be amazing :love::love:

9 times out of 10 when I have a post removed it is as a result of responding to some dipshit post that ends up getting removed for being abusive. The reason is usually just "cleanup of upstream posts" but in any case I have a few thoughts about the game as it stands at the moment.

We really don't have enough to judge how the game will ultimately work out, but to my mind, this reboot was clearly needed. I've discussed on the board before how uneven the quality of the previous version was. This isn't a knock against the dev but rather a recognition of the downside of constant improvement. People were ragequitting in the early chapters and remained ignorant of how much better the game got in nearly all facets. So redoing the beginning of the game was, in essence, unavoidable and the dev very clearly articulated why the original version of the game was not a sustainable project.

So at this point I prefer not to look back but rather look forward, and based on what we have thus far there is a lot to look forward to. So while I remain ignorant to what "it" happens to be or where it began, I'm looking forward to the next update. Whenever it happens to get here.

I hate to see censorship of any kind. Even more so in a forum of this nature. But there will always be whiners and people who somehow feel threatened. And others who feel the need to threaten others.

Fortunately, we are all here to enjoy this great game. Nobody likes to see re-work. But in the end, we are all playing works in development. There are bound to be changes, abrupt endings, and disappointments.

If half of the developers accomplished re-worked material at the level Ocean has created, this forum would be full of incredible VNs. (And I already loved and supported the original.) Seriously! Stunning work from this guy!

This one won't be as long as there's not that much to say.
The renders are flying in nicely. Dana has marinated for a bit and I gave her the finishing touch.

1. MotionBuilder

Soo... As most of you know, I like animations.

I do a lot of them. And I do long ones.

And other people/artists are always surprised when I tell them that I'm just using Daz and not some external program.
For those of you that don't know... There's a reason most games don't have long animations. Animating in Daz is the definition of pain.

I obviously looked at external programs to get my animations to the next level but I just didn't find the right one.
I tried Cascadeur, IClone7, etc.

They all suck ass in their own way and don't give me what I need... But then I found MotionBuilder.

For some reason I always missed it... I did download the trial and did some tests...

It was wonderful... I felt like a little kid on Christmas eve... UNTIL

I didn't find a monthly alternative... but it would most likely be priced even higher. (This would be 170$/month)

This software is exactly what I've been looking for but that's more than half my entire support. (Pre-Taxes)

I would be able to pay 170$/ month for it... But paying more than 2000$ at once. That's above the current support.

I'm currently still using the 30 Day Trial and will try to learn and animate as much as I can but afterward, I'll have to save up extra for this.

I just hate how everything has become subscription-based... But I can't go without it.

It offers too much value for a serial animater like me. There probably won't be any more hardware updates this year, considering all the costs for music and software. Lol.

But all this price-negativity shouldn't distract us from the important point... I found an external animation software that perfectly fits my needs. This is incredible.

This is a Game-changing discovery.

2. Texture/Shader animation
I also found a nice way to animate textures and in general shaders. Some nice opportunities have opened up.

3. Previews
Let's get to some visuals.
One thing I've learned over the past few updates... Always preview a new character as my own vision and perception are compromised.

Whenever I pose the eyes of a character, I need to nail it in the first 15-30 seconds or my mind will play tricks. (That's why an artist should always get up for 5-10 minutes and then take a look at his work again.)
Anyways, this is about Gina.
Gina was a special rework because I didn't let her marinate. I reworked her and immediately previewed her.
I made some slight changes to her since the last log and yeah.

Regarding GIna...

Gina's personal story is more or less the same as in the dead old WIAB.

Again, she starts with a Boyfriend and offers a unique Reverse-NTR/Cuckold route. (MC is the one who gets to have the fun. (Netori).

It's fascinating how much her appearance changes when switching between her two hairstyles.
This one makes her look almost approachable... While the other gives +10 Boost on Bitchyness.
