Oh buddy... Everyone here would love to help you clear it up. Problem is no one here knows for sure. Personally, I don't even think the dev knows at this point but even if he does, it's probably gonna change in the future anyways

Just think of them as landlords, tenants, roommates and childhood friends with no parental relation at all

On a more serious note, good for Ocean. The "I need a new workstation" saga has dragged on for some considerable time, so it's great that he is about to finally fulfill that ambition/goal.

As for the render count, 4,200 renders would make the update the equivalent of reworked chapters 1 to 3 - which took just over two years to release (Nov '21 to Jan '24) and likely roughly two-and-a-half years to create. So, by a back of the pad calculation, what previously took 30-odd months to finish and release will take around 13-15 months...

Did not say it in a mean tone. I am glad for him as well. But is something that he is passionate about, and with shine new toys is easy to get lost, I know it is for me, just would prefer that he play with it in Ch5.


His numbers are completly insane, if he has done this much in a year - and I belive he did- are really crazy numbers, something closer to 12K renders I don't know that DPC is doing this much.

I just hope he does not burn out and can keep the pace, if he can deliver one update every 5 to 6 months he will get momentum.

Yeah, I agree.

Ocean appears hyper-focused and passionate. I know what that's like when working on a project, it becomes all-consuming, but bearable provided everything is moving forward. Plus, it's always amazing to look back and think, did I really get all that work done at that pace? From my own experience, the constant danger over the long-term is that one can suddenly find a new project or task to become hyper-focused on...

I trust Ocean has the sense to run his existing system and the new workstation in parallel in the meantime, at least until he finishes the existing updates and any unexpected bugs/issues are ironed out with his new workstation.
